Akshay Kumar & Shoojit Sircar launches the crowdsourced National Anthem

My Nation My Anthem initiative was launched on 26th January, 2013 to commemorate India’s Republic Day. The initiative gave young filmmakers, musicians and singers an opportunity to render their interpretation of the Anthem to create India’s first-ever Crowdsourced Anthem. The project was crowdsourced on Talenthouse India in association with PVR Cinemas, Worldoo, Rising Sun Films and Rampage Motion Pictures.

Talenthouse India identified the National Anthem to be the biggest unifier for India and a symbol of our diversity. My Nation My Anthem campaign received more than 500 interpretations of the Jana Gana Mana, originally created by Noble prize winner, a great humanitarian and philosopher, Rabindranath Tagore. Analyzing each interpretation, a team from Talenthouse, Shoojit Sircar and Ram Mirchandani handpicked the finest talent who were then creatively supervised to produce the two final films. The anthem created by these young budding talents will be now showcased at PVR Cinemas across Maharashtra for millions of people to appreciate the young talent of India.

The young winners of My Nation My Anthem are Devansh Bhatia the musician, Saurabh Shetye the singer, Aashini Shah & Vishwesh Kolvalkar filmmakers of the first film. This film showcases the tech savvy youngsters of our nation getting inspired by an act of patriotism to stand up and be proud of their nation.The second team included Nijo Johnson & Rohit Gaba who chose to show patriotism through the eyes of children. Every student comes dressed as one freedom fighter to give recognition to our forgotten heroes,

Akshay Kumar said “My clear favorite is the National Anthem film featuring kids as I liked the concept of forgotten heroes brought to life by little children.”

Shoojit Sircar of Rising Sun Films said, “My Nation My Anthem has stayed true to its promise to evoke patriotism within us towards our country and fellow Indians. It was an overwhelming experience to see young talent across India working together to create something so powerful. There are no boundaries when it comes to creativity and that is very evident how these young winners have established something in the resource provided to them”
