ALTBalaji’s thriller drama Apharan lives up to its promise

Apharan is a story of a celebrated cop, who lands himself in a situation where he is desperate not only for money, but to fight for his one true love, his wife. In this fight for survival, he has to navigate his way through a kidnapping which evolves into an unknowing murder. The series takes an unexpected turn when he is assigned to investigate his own crime.   

The power-packed series comprises a stellar star cast with renowned actor Arunoday Singh essaying the role of a top cop – Rudra. A sharp officer who is a specialist in kidnapping cases. He rose the ranks because of his manipulative ways but unfortunately was booked under a false accusation by a minister whose son dies in a kidnapping case, cop Rudra was looking into. When he comes out of the jail, his world has turned upside down and he resorts to alcohol to drown his sorrows.  The spunky Nidhi Singh perfectly portrays the character of cop Rudra’s wife, Ranjana. A rustic, raw, middle-class girl who thought he dreams have come true when she got married to the handsome officer. Her life changes when her husband goes behind bars and she is left lurching to make ends meet, which ends up forcing to sleep with her employer occasionally for money. The extraordinary Mahie Gill will charm the spectators with her performance as the mysterious Madhu and the extremely talented Varun Badola entertains with his character of a head security agent Mr. Suryakant. It is the ace actor Varun Badola who has also penned down the dialogues of the web-series.
