Amazon India ropes Voot's Akash Banerjee as Head of Marketing

According to media reports, Amazon India has roped Akash Banerji, Head of AVOD business to head marketing for their central mobile development business.

Banerjee has been associated with the Viacom18 owned OTT service since its inception and led marketing, partnerships and licensing revenue for VOOT. Within marketing, he was responsible for all digital marketing initiatives VOOT (acquisition and retention), brand and communication aspects and consumer research and insights.

Before joining VOOT, Akash was the Head of Marketing for Hotstar (2014-15), the new digital video-on demand platform from Star TV, where he was responsible for the big bang launch and driving consumer acquisition at massive scale. Akash Banerji has more than fifteen years of consistent high performance in multiple fields spanning the world of marketing, partnerships, sales and distribution with leading consumer centric MNCs in the area of managing and growing brands profitably.

After having completed his MBA at FMS, Delhi, Akash went on to start his career within the consumer products industry.
