Amitabh Bachchan to be an RJ on Red FM

We love him on the big screen, we admire him on the small screen, and we hold our breath when he recites poems on stage. But how will you react when the legend Amitabh Bachchan gives you a phone call? The shehenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan is all set to take the RED FM listeners by surprise as he will be chatting with them over phone. So, tune into All India Shamitabh Radio as Amitabh turns an RJ this Thursday, February 05, on India’s leading and most awarded FM network, 93.5 RED FM.

Amitabh will be an RJ for the entire day on All India Shamitabh Radio, i.e., RED FM on Feb 05. He will become the ‘common man’s voice’; talking to RED FM’s listeners, and will make calls on the listener’s behalf to pass on messages that may otherwise go ignored or unheard.

Few are aware that superstar Amitabh Bachchan had nurtured a dream of becoming a radio presenter before trying his luck in Bollywood.  He even visited All India Radio for auditions but was rejected for the very voice which ironically became his trade mark in Bollywood. Now, Amitabh Bachchan is all set to fulfill his dream of hosting a show on radio and the listeners will get to hear the same baritone voice for the entire day.

Speaking about the association, Ms Nisha Narayanan, COO, RED FM, said, “In an endeavour to bring our listeners closer to the legendary star, we planned this initiative with Shamitabh which celebrates Mr. Bachchan’s voice as the voice of the common man. Amitabh Bachchan is like an institution in himself, adored by people across age groups. It will be interesting to see how listeners react when Mr. Bachchan interacts with them as an RJ. We are confident that we will make February 05 a memorable day for our listeners across the RED FM Network.”

Mr. Bachchan is bracing himself for the task. While recording promotional bites for this, he Tweeted, “And doing some rather complicated RJ’ing for RED FM 93.5!! Goodness how do these guys manage it!! I am at a loss”
