Apurva Chandra appointed as MIB Secretary

Apurva Chandra, Ministry of labour and employment Secretary has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet on Thursday, 19th August, 2021. 

The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment. He replaced Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare who was helding this position since May 2018. 

Chandra who belongs to the 1988 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Maharashtra Cadre has spent more than seven years in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas in the Government of India. He has also worked as Principal Secretary (Industries) in the Government of Maharashtra for over four years between 2013 and 2017.
