AROI re-elects Anurradha Prasad as Chairperson

Anurradha Prasad has been re-elected Chairperson, Bag Films and Radio Dhamaal, as President for another term by the Members of Association of Radio Operators for India (AROI). Over 160 of the 240 private FM station in operation participated in the meeting held on 11th September 2012.
 
Among the several new mechanisms they intend implementing, a self regulation mechanism which includes content complaints redressal holds primary importance. Apurva Purohit, CEO Radio City is responsible for this initiative. Prashant Panday, ED, Radio Mirchi will be in charge of setting up an advertisement outstanding control mechanism, including outstanding policy and accreditation process.
Where strengthening and reviewing of the existing Listenership Measurement Systems is concerned Tarun Katial will be in charge of the same.
 
Another plan on the anvil is AROI’s initiative to concentrate on brand building of radio this year. Leading this initiative are Harish Bhatia, CEO, My FM and Harshad Jain, Head, Fever FM.
 
Under their Copyright Amendment Act, 2012, AROI sees the need for a full-time copyright board to be set up at the earliest. This initiative will be headed by Rahul Gupta, Director, Radio Mantra.
