Australia's Langoor enters India; Sets up R&D Center in Bangalore

Langoor Pty Ltd, an atypical web products and services company from Australia, has entered India and setup an R&D Center in Bangalore. Investing 225 Thousand Dollars in the country, Langoor plans to ramp up the workforce at the Bangalore center to 20 employees by end of 2011. The company is founded by Ruchir Punjabi, an Indian settled in Australia.

Langoor plans to launch Langoor, net in India, a self-service platform for creating websites that is also a one stop shop for domains, e-mail, hosting and websites. It opens avenues for SMEs and startups to create a professional web presence. On the other hand, Langoor opens a unique opportunity for developers to integrate plug-ins and themes into Langoor.net and receive a share on revenue based on downloads and usage.

On the launch, Ruchir Punjabi, Founder, Langoor said, "India is a very attractive market, where the potential of web services and products is just exploding. We would be uniquely positioned to organize the market and set benchmarks for website creation and management with our product Langoor.net.

We are also looking forward to opening the platform to developers and designers to facilitate a web app-store via Langoor.net.

India represents a $100 Million market opportunity and is growing at 25% annually. This opportunity is upwards $100 Billion globally. Both market spaces are largely unorganized. We are looking to organise this market space. We believe we are creating products that consumers want."

Langoor.net also looks to bootstrap the website retail business in India. Service providers and web services outfits can re-brand Langoor.net with their label and service their clients, supported entirely on Langoor's infrastructure.

Langoor delivers a functional website in 5 easy steps. Sign up, Pick a Website name, Drag & Drop, Add Content and Publish.

The website builder is built for the needs of year 2020. It offers a easy to use drag & drop interface, in-line editing (i.e. in place, editing without going to a different page or text box, etc), instant display of output, Internal Features & Themes Store (with many third party programmers and designers), one-click install features and themes and a diligent fellow users team to review the themes and features and provide online support. Besides, the platform offers affordable pay as you go plans, so any business and individual can avail the produce before paying for it.

Langoor is also working on other products such as Langoor.mobi and Langoor.IT. Langoor.mobi is a website creation and management platform for websites optimised for mobile. Langoor.IT looks at the technical end of the website business and is planning to support the infrastructure needs of website designers and developers in India.
