Authenticity, Agility, Ability - 3 pillars of today’s marketing world: Deepali Naair

Deepali Naair, Director and Chief Marketing Officer, IBM India & South Asia, is very passionate about marketing, digital and e-commerce. She is responsible for driving marketing, brand initiative and customer relationship management at IBM India & South Asia. Apart from that she is also a podcast host to a successful series called ‘Being CEO with Deepali Naair’. 

Naair had several leadership and marketing mantras to share in her address on the topic, ‘Leadership in the New Normal with the 3A’s Framework’ at the recently held special event to launch Adgully’s premier property – Powerful Influencers 2020. 

Speaking on the 3A’s Framework, Naair explained that these three As stood for Authenticity, Agility and Ability – which will help leaders decide whether they are on the right path and the right journey. She sincerely believes that leadership is not a goal that one achieves at, it’s a journey. “You have to be constantly moving towards a certain other goal for you to be a leader the way you are,” she added. 

According to Naair, Authenticity is about the about the purpose of the brand. She further said, “It is the art of marketing as we all know. And it is what leads to customer centricity. It is what we normally refer to as the authentic voice of the brand, the authentic voice of the organisation.” 

“If you are looking at the new normal, or 6 months or two years from now, the brands and marketing teams and organisations that will stand the test of times are the ones who will remain authentic to their purpose, to their audience and the needs of the customers and have filled the void in the market,” Naair continued, calling it the art of the marketing side. 

She then moved on to the science side of marketing and spoke about the two new pillars – Agility and Ability.
