'Balika Vadhu' takes a 15-year leap

If you yearn for something, your fates hold the power to realign destiny and bring you your heart’s desire. And it’s this longing to fulfil her mother, Anandi’s last wish which gives her daughter, Nandini the wings to achieve her dreams and dictate her own future. COLORS’ longest running fiction drama, Balika Vadhu will narrate a story of love and aspirations as they erase the memories of pain and longing of her childhood. As an established doctor, Nandini finds a purpose which helps her to overcome the stigma of her past and chart the way for a journey that promises happiness beyond comprehension. Nandini’s journey of love and determination to move on will commence as a brand new chapter – Balika Vadhu…Lamhe Pyaar Ke, starting 25th April 2016, every Monday to Friday at 8:00 PM on COLORS.

On Balika Vadhu, audiences have witnessed Nandini’s innocence, struggles and fighting spirit as she faced injustice head-on as a 13-year-old Nimboli, who was kidnapped as an infant and trapped in the web of child marriage. 15 years onwards, as a life free from her past beckons, Nandini (Mahhi Vij) will experience a new zephyr of aspirations, love and relationships whose gentle bloom will shape her future. Free from the binding customs, she will come across Dr. Amit (Avinash Sachdev) who will guide her through her expedition to become a successful doctor striving for the betterment of humanity. Adding a touch of happiness to her life will be Krish (Ruslaan Mumtaz), a young medical intern visiting from the US who will take it upon himself to help Nandini encounter love. Urging her to laugh and enjoy herself to the fullest, Krish creates a zest for life in Nandini’s heart. Both Dr. Amit and Krish will become an intrinsic part of Nandini’s life as Dr. Amit becomes her support system, and Krish arms her with a gamut of emotions that bring cheer to her life.

Commenting on his role as Dr. Amit, Avinash Sachdev said, “Being associated with a much-appreciated show like Balika Vadhu puts a lot of responsibility on me, as an actor. Dr. Amit is Nandini’s rock. He motivates her, helps her to achieve her dreams and in the process ends up developing feelings for her. Playing the role of Krish, Ruslaan Mumtaz said, “Born to a super-rich family living in the US, Krish will be a medical intern, whose enthusiasm towards life will attract Nandini to him. He brings laughter and happiness to her life, and teaches her to soar in the name of love. Krish helps Nandini find her true identity and individuality in a fun and jubilant way”.

Nandini’s journey on Balika Vadhu… Lamhe Pyaar Ke turns a new leaf as she benignly takes an oath at Jaipur’s biggest hospital – Suryodaya Hospital, thereby cementing her career and future under the guidance of Dr. Amit, a senior doctor. On the other hand, Krish enters Nandini’s life bringing with him a wave of emotions and happiness. In the midst of these emotions, Nandini will also be looking for her lost brother Shivam (Dishank Arora), and forming a heartening bond with her foster sister Sudha (Yukti Kapoor).

The pain of her past catching up with her future, Nandini recounts the despair of her childhood and her promise to her mother to take charge of her life going forward. As a new lease in Nandini’s life takes centrestage, a great career as a doctor and the gentle nudge of love will come knocking at her door.
