BANGKOK ADFEST: 14 teams to participate in the Young Lotus Creative Workshop

BANGKOK: ADFEST has announced, 14 teams from 14 cities that will participate in the Young Lotus Creative Workshop, hosted by BBDO Asia Pacific.

Chris Thomas, Chairman & CEO of BBDO Asia, Middle East & Africa and Chairman of Proximity Worldwide, will head up a team of creative leaders who will mentor this year’s Young Lotus teams.

“It is no good serving up platitudes about how important talent is to the industry. You have to work hard at fostering talent, training and developing it. At BBDO we put a lot

of focus on doing that internally. But we all need to make more effort outside of our networks to ensure that our great industry is an attractive and exciting place to be. This is part of that effort,” says Thomas.

The cities represented by this year’s Young Lotus teams are: Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Colombo, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo and Dhaka.

The Young Lotus Workshop is a day-and-a-half workshop, where creative teams from around the world will be presented with a live brief and just 24-hours to make the deadline. BBDO’s mentors will then deliver inspiration sessions spread over two days to inspire and coach this year’s Young Lotus teams on how craft great ideas.

This year’s mentors include Suthisak Sucharittanonta, Chairman & Chief Creative Officer at BBDO Bangkok; Andy Wilson, BBDO’s Head of Strategy, Asia; David Guerrero, Chairman & Chief Creative Officer – BBDO Guerrero; and Ronald Ng, Chief Creative Officer at BBDO Singapore.

The Young Lotus teams who create the best ideas will appear in front of a live audience at ADFEST on Saturday 8th March, 11:30am in the session, ‘BBDO Presents the Young Lotus Creative Workshop’.

Delegates can also vote for their favorite team, and the team with the highest votes will win the Young Lotus Popular Vote Lotus Award. The winners will be announced at the Final Award Presentation that night.

ADFEST 2014 takes place on 6th – 8th March 2014 at Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand.
