BARC Ratings Week 38: Star Plus continues lead in Rural+Urban

BARC ratings for Week 38 (September 17-23) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw Star Plus maintain its numero uno position amongst Hindi GECs, even as all the top 10 Hindi GE channels, barring Rishtey, witnessed decline in their gross viewership.

Star Plus continued to reign amongst the Hindi GECs this week as well, but continued to see decline in its gross viewership. In Week 38, the channel garnered gross viewership of 682,613, compared to 712,424 recorded last week. Star Plus’ shows – ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ and ‘Yeh Hain Mohabbatein’ – continue to put up a strong show. ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ slipped a notch to the fourth spot this week, garnering 10,124 Impressions (000s), while ‘Yeh Hain Mohabbatein’, too, slipped a notch to the fifth spot with 9652 Impressions (000s).

Colors, which climbed up to the No. 2 spot last week, held on to this position in Week 38. The channel witnessed a decline in its gross viewership from 612,736 in Week 37 to 581,352 recorded this week. Colors’ show ‘Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’ slipped a notch to No. 3 with 11311 Impressions (000s).

Zee TV, which had slipped a notch to No. 3 in Week 37, remained in this position this week, garnering gross viewership of 538,669, a decline from 547,001 recorded last week. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was back as the most watch show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 12,635 Impressions (000s). ‘Brahmarakshas - Jaag Utha Shaitan’ couldn’t consolidate its numero uno position, slipping to the No. 2 spot with 12,380 Impressions (000s).

Zee Anmol and Star Utsav continued in their respective positions of No. 4 and No. 5 in Week 38 as well.

Placed at the fourth spot, Zee Anmol recorded gross viewership of 463,443, compared to 493,701 recorded in Week 37.

Star Utsav, which remained at the fifth spot, also saw a decline in its gross viewership to 446,654 from 454,936 recorded in Week 37.

Life OK, which had slipped a notch to No. 7 in Week 37, gained a notch this week to be placed at the sixth spot. The channel garnered gross viewership of 424,757, a decline from 430,290 recorded last week.

On the other hand, Sony Entertainment Television slipped from No. 6 to be placed at No. 7 in Week 38. The channel’s gross viewership declined from 433,257 last week to 417,295 recorded this week. ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, which was placed at No. 5 in the list of top shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban last week, moved out of the list this week.

Sony Pal remained at the eighth spot this week. The channel registered a gross viewership of 406,129 in Week 37, compared to 406,409 recorded last week.

Sony SAB and Rishtey switched placed this week, with Rishtey climbing up a notch to No. 9, garnering gross viewership of 351,838. The channel had recorded gross viewership of 345,081 in Week 37. Rishtey was the only channel this week to register an increase in its gross viewership.

Sony SAB was placed at the tenth spot in Week 38, garnering gross viewership of 351,359, compared to 381,074 recorded last week.
