BARC Ratings Week 39: Star Plus continues lead in Rural+Urban

BARC ratings for Week 39 (September 24-30) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw Star Plus maintain its numero uno position amongst Hindi GECs, even as the top 10 Hindi GE channels’ rankings remained largely unchanged.

Star Plus continued to reign amongst the Hindi GECs in Week 39 as well, witnessing a gross viewership of 690,400, an increase from 682,613 recorded last week. Star Plus’ shows – ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ and ‘Yeh Hain Mohabbatein’ – continue to put up a strong show. ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ was placed at the third spot this week, up from No. 4 in Week 38, garnering 10,230 Impressions (000s), while ‘Yeh Hain Mohabbatein’ remained at No. 5 with 9,704 Impressions (000s).

Colors continued at No. 2 spot this week. However, the channel witnessed further decline in its gross viewership from 581,352 recorded in Week 38 to 544,831 this week. Its show, ‘Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’, which was placed at No. 3 last week, moved out of the most viewed shows on Hindi GECs’ list in Week 39.

Zee TV remained firm at No. 3 in Week 39, garnering gross viewership of 522,878, a decline from 538,669 recorded last week. The tussle for the top spot among Hindi GEC shows in Rural+Urban continues between two of Zee TV’s shows, with ‘Brahmarakshas - Jaag Utha Shaitan’ getting the upper hand this week. The show, placed at No. 1, garnered 11,461 Impressions (000s). Meanwhile, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was the second most watch show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 11,236 Impressions (000s).

Star Utsav overtook Zee Anmol to claim the No. 4 spot in Week 39. The channel, which was placed at the fifth spot last week, garnered gross viewership of 457,548, an increase from 446,654 recorded last week.

Zee Anmol, on the other hand, slipped a notch to No. 5, recording gross viewership of 439,027 in Week 39, compared to 463,443 recorded last week.

Placed at No. 6, Life OK’s position remained unchanged in Week 39. The channel witnessed an increase in its gross viewership this week to 430,236 from 424,757 recorded in Week 38.

Sony Entertainment Television, too, continued in the same spot as last week at No. 7. The channel, too, saw an increase in its gross viewership from 417,295 recorded in Week 38 to 424,918 this week. ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ made a re-entry to the list of most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban at No. 4. The show garnered 9,865 Impressions (000s).

Sony Pal remained at the eighth spot this week. The channel registered a gross viewership of 410,720, a marginal increase from 406,129 recorded in Week 38.

Sony SAB climbed up a notch to No. 9 in Week 39, garnering gross viewership of 371,912, an increase from 351,359 recorded last week.

Rishtey, on the other hand, slipped to No. 10 this week with a gross viewership of 325,388, a decline from 351,838 recorded in Week 38.
