BARC ratings Wk 10: Star Plus remains at No. 1 as most GECs see growth

BARC ratings for Week 10 (March 5-11) of 2016 saw Star Plus remain at the No. 1 spot, registering a slight growth in its gross viewership. The top 4 order remained this week, even as DD National, which shot to the No. 5 spot in Week 9, slipped out of the top 10 Hindi GECs with the conclusion of the Asia Cup cricket tournament.

As per BARC ratings for Week 10 (March 5-11) of 2016, Star Plus saw a slight increase in its gross viewership to 707,636 from 677,342 in Week 9, which remained less that the gross viewership of 768,495 garnered in Week 8.

Colors continued at the second spot. After registering a fall in its gross viewership in Week 9 to 667,036, the channel recorded a marginal hike in its gross viewership this week to 668,653.

Zee TV remained steadfast at No. 3 with a gross viewership of 631,579 in Week 10, which was a slight increase from 626,362 last week.

Zee Anmol continued to be placed fourth in Week 10, garnering a gross viewership of 548,303. The channel witnessed a fall in its gross viewership for the third straight week from 594,218 in Week 9.

Sony Pal, which was placed sixth in Week 9, moved up a notch to No. 5 this week, replacing DD National, which dropped out of the top 10 list. The channel recorded gross viewership of 518,422 in Week 10, a slight increase from 500,119 last week.

Star Utsav, too, climbed up a notch to No. 7 from No. 6 last week with a gross viewership of 509,852 in Week 10, an increase from 486,353 last week.

Life OK, which had witnessed a fall in its gross viewership in Week 9 to 435,372, saw an increase this week to 469,661. The channel was placed in the seventh spot as against the eighth spot last week.

Rishtey, which saw a rise in its gross viewership to 410,192 in Week 9, continued to see an increase in its gross viewership in Week 10 as well to 412,257. The channel was placed in the eighth spot, up from No. 9 last week.

Sony SAB, too, climbed up a notch to No 9. The channel was placed in the tenth position in Week 9 with a gross viewership of 384,177. In Week 10, the channel’s gross viewership was up marginally at 391,520.

Sony Entertainment Television, which was placed tenth in Week 8 but had dropped out of the top 10 Hindi GECs list in Week 9, returned to the list in the tenth spot in Week 10, garnering a gross viewership of 301,805.
