BARC ratings Wk 16: Colors pips past Star Plus to be No. 1

BARC ratings for Week 16 (April 16-22) of 2016 saw Colors reach the numero uno spot among Hindi GECs after several weeks at No. 2. Meanwhile, Sony Pal, too, climbed up a notch to be placed at No. 4, giving some close competition to Zee TV placed at the third spot.

With a gross viewership of 670,523, a tad lower than 674,344 recorded in Week 15, Colors climbed up to the No. 1 spot this week.

Star Plus slipped to the second spot with a gross viewership of 628,039 in Week 16, registering a further fall in its gross viewership, which stood at 700,822 in Week 15 and 712,595 the week before that.

Zee TV continued to be in the third spot, garnering gross viewership of 539,218, a marginal dip from 554,385 in Week 15. The channel had recorded gross viewership of 593,354 in Week 14.

Giving stiff competition to Zee TV was Sony Pal, which climbed up a notch to No. 4 in Week 16 with a gross viewership of 531,196, up from 511,913 last week.

Zee Anmol, which had dropped to the sixth spot in Week 15 after being placed in the fourth spot in Week 14, climbed up to No. 5 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 513,643, an increase from 489,059 recorded last week.

Life OK slipped to the sixth spot in Week 16 from No. 4 last week, registering a gross viewership of 452,797, a fall from 519,305 recorded last week.

There was no change in the positions of Rishtey, Star Utsav, Sony SAB and Sony Entertainment Television in Week 16.

Rishtey continued at No 7 with gross viewership of 435,574, compared to 456,334 in Week 15. This was a further fall from gross viewership of 470,768 recorded in Week 14.

Star Utsav remained at the eighth spot in Week 16 and managed to stem the slide in its gross viewership, recording 419,544 as against 405,153 last week. The channel has garnered gross viewership of 492,797 in Week 14.

Placed at No. 9, Sony SAB saw a further fall in its gross viewership in Week 16 at 359,090 from 375,739 last week and 382,765 in Week 14.

Sony Entertainment Television continued at No. 10 with a gross viewership of 278,738 in Week 16, a fall from 296,067 last week.
