BARC ratings Wk 18: See-saw battle at top as Colors trumps Star Plus again

The see-saw battle between the top four channels continues. Star Plus, which regained its No. 1 position last week, slipped to the second spot again in BARC ratings for Week 18 (April 30-May 6) of 2016. Meanwhile, Colors rose to the numero uno spot once again. On the other hand, Sony Pal, which gained big last week climbing up to No. 3, slipped a notch, even as Zee TV was back at the third spot.

Colors was back at No. 1 in Week 18 after losing out to close rival Star Plus last week. The channel registered a gross viewership of 656,335 this week, a decline from 679,642 in Week 17.

Star Plus slipped a notch again to be placed at the second spot in Week 18 with gross viewership of 646,994, a fall from 692,202 in Week 17.

Zee TV, which was dislodged from its long-standing position of No. 3 last week, was back at the third spot in Week 18, garnering a gross viewership of 598,251, an increase from 533,468 in Week 17.

After the strong show in Week 17, Sony Pal slipped back to the No. 4 spot, witnessing a fall in its gross viewership from 548,932 in last week to 533,928 in Week 18.

Zee Anmol, which was placed seventh in Week 17, climbed up to the fifth spot this week. The channel witnessed an increase in its gross viewership – up from 474,113 in last week to 506,203 in Week 18.

Star Utsav slipped a notch to No 6 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 464,727, compared to 482,952 in Week 17.

Life OK, too, slipped a notch to be placed at the seventh spot in Week 18. The channel witnessed a dip in its gross viewership – from 478,240 in Week 17 to 458,127 this week.

There was no change in the positions of Rishtey, Sony SAB and Sony Entertainment Television in Week 18 as well.

Rishtey continued at No. 8 with a gross viewership of 378,935 in Week 18, a decline from 411,338 last week.

Placed at the ninth spot, Sony SAB garnered gross viewership of 345,464 in Week 18, a decline from 359,899 last week.

Sony Entertainment Television continued at No. 10. The channel also witnessed a fall in its gross viewership – from 347,921 in Week 17 to 297,283 this week.

Week 18: Saturday,30th April 2016 to Friday, 6th May 2016
