BARC ratings Wk 23: Star Plus tops urban; Star Utsav leads rural

BARC ratings for Week 23 (June 4-10) of 2016 saw no change in the ranking of the top 10 Hindi GECs [HSM (Urban) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals]. Most of the top 10 Hindi GECs continued to witness growth in gross viewership this week.

Star Plus remained at the No. 1 spot in Week 23, witnessing a further increase in its gross viewership to 477,077 from 465,665 last week [HSM (Urban) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals].

Colors’ position, too, remained unchanged at No. 2 in Week 23. The channel also saw an increase in its gross viewership at 463,630, compared to gross viewership of 456,104 last week.

Zee TV continued in its third spot in Week 23 as well, registering gross viewership of 305,495, a marginal increase from 294,059 recorded last week.

Life OK, too, continued in its fourth spot this week, garnering gross viewership of 282,796, an increase from 291,474 recorded in Week 22.

Placed at the fifth spot, Sony SAB garnered gross viewership of 274,619 in Week 23, an increase from 256,888 recorded in last week.

Sony Entertainment Television’s position remained unchanged at No. 6 in Week 23. The channel witnessed a marginal growth in its gross viewership from 240,040 in Week 22 to 242,455 this week.

Sony Pal continued at No. 7 in Week 23, garnering gross viewership of 121,853, a fall from 128,739 recorded last week.

&TV, too, remained at the eighth spot, garnering gross viewership of 120,085 this week, compared to 119,527 in Week 22.

Star Utsav and Zee Anmol, too continued in their last week’s positions of No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. Star Utsav saw a decline in its gross viewership from 114,881 last week to 101,723 in Week 23. Zee Anmol also witnessed a decline in its gross viewership from 99,308 in Week 22 to 92,324 this week.

Rural Viewership: Star Utsav continues to lead

BARC ratings for Week 23 (June 4-10) of 2016 continued to see strong performance from free-to-air Hindi GECs in rural India [HSM (Rural) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals].

Star Utsav continued to lead the Hindi GECs in rural India, garnering gross viewership of 410,575 in Week 23, which was a slight decline from 411,183 recorded last week.

Sony Pal also remained in its second spot with a gross viewership of 398,647, a marginal increase from 396,763 in Week 22.

Placed at the third spot, Zee Anmol saw growth in its gross viewership to 351,200 in Week 23, from 331,471 recorded last week.

Rishtey, which had climbed up two notches from No. 5 to No. 4 in Week 22, held on to its position this week, witnessing a further increase in its gross viewership to 277,373 from 269,190 last week.

Star Plus, too, held on to its fifth spot in Week 23 with a gross viewership of 225,324. The channel, however, witnessed a decline from 245,291 recorded last week.

Colors climbed up a notch to be placed at No. 6 in Week 23, garnering a gross viewership of 220,684, compared to 229,334 recorded last week.

Zee TV slipped to the seventh spot this week, reporting a gross viewership of 210,083, a decline from 230,765 recorded in Week 22.
