BARC ratings Wk 33: Star Plus continues lead in rural+urban viewership

BARC ratings for Week 33 (August 13-19) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw the top order remain unchanged. While Star Plus continued to maintain its lead among Hindi GECs, Star Utsav, which climbed to the second spot last week, held on to this position in Week 33.

Star Plus remained steadfast at the No. 1 spot in Week 33 as well, witnessing a decline in its gross viewership this week to 668,069 from 691,536 recorded last week. Two of its shows featured in the list of top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Week 32. Talent hunt show, Dance + - Season 2, made its entry to the list at No. 4, garnering 8,523 impressions (000s) in Week 33. ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ slipped a notch to No. 5, garnering 8,096 impressions (000s).

Star Utsav, which moved past Zee TV and Colors to be placed at No. 2 in Week 32, held on to this position this week as well. However, the channel witnessed a decline in its gross viewership to 549,545 from 598,686 recorded last week.

Zee TV, which had slipped to No. 3 last week, remained in this position in Week 33. The channel, too, witnessed a decline in its gross viewership this week from 586,734 in Week 32 to 542,520 recorded this week. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued to be the most watched show on Hindi GECs in rural+urban, garnering 11,297 impressions (000s) in Week 33. ‘Brahmarakshas - Jaag Utha Shaitan’, which had made an entry to this list last week, continued to be placed at No. 2, garnering 10,271 impressions (000s).

Colors, which had slipped to No. 4 in Week 32, continued in this position this week as well. The channel witnessed a decline in its gross viewership from 586,017 last week to 508,811 in Week 33.

Zee Anmol was placed at the fifth spot in Week 33, registering a gross viewership of 479,214 a decline from 490,427 recorded in Week 32.

Life OK was placed at the sixth spot this week as well. The channel, too, witnessed a decline in its gross viewership from 426,878 in Week 32 to 405,279 recorded this week.

Sony Pal continued at the seventh spot in Week 33 as well, witnessing an increase in its gross viewership to 401,288 from 395,033 recorded last week.

Sony SAB, Sony Entertainment Television and Rishtey remained in their respective positions of 78, 8 and 10.

Sony SAB, which was placed at No. 8 in Week 33, garnered a gross viewership of 375,133, compared to 375,475 recorded in Week 33.

Sony Entertainment Television, which had slipped a notch to the ninth spot in Week 32, continued in this position this week as well, garnering gross viewership of 369,158, an increase from 352,633 recorded last week.

Placed at the tenth spot, Rishtey saw a further decline in its gross viewership to 262,899 this week from 277,343 recorded in Week 31. ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ made an entry in the top 5 Hindi GECs list in rural+urban, garnering 8,753 impressions (000s).
