BARC Week 22 ratings: Star Plus attains numero uno status on All Platforms

Star Plus attained the numero uno status on All Platforms, ahead of the FTA channels in Week 22 of BARC (Saturday, 29th May 2021 To Friday, 4th June 2021). As pre BARC data, in Week 22, Star Plus became the No. 1 channel with 970 million weekly impressions in HSM market (All data on HSM U+R, 2+). Three of the most watched shows on Hindi GECs on All platforms also belonged to Star Plus. Meanwhile, Star Plus continued its lead on Pay Platforms.

All Platforms

Star Plus overtook its sister channel Star Utsav to be the No. 1 Hindi GEC in Week 22, garnering weekly AMA of 2887.36(000), an increase from last week’s 2805.55(000).

Star Utsav slid to the second spot, after being at the numero uno spot for several weeks. The channel garnered weekly AMA of 2825.54(000), witnessing a decline from 2965.61(000) weekly AMA registered in Week 21.

Sony SAB remained unchanged in the third spot, garnering weekly AMA of 2487.15(000), while Colors Rishtey [weekly AMA of 1582.14(000)] and Sony Pal [weekly AMA of 1537.02(000)] switched places, with the firmer climbing up a notch to No. 4, and Sony Pal climbing down a notch to No. 5.

There was no change in the rankings of Colors (No. 6), Sony Entertainment Television (No. 7), Zee Anmol (No. 8), Zee TV (No. 9) and Dangal (No. 10).

With weekly AMA of 1518.56(000), Colors saw an increase in its viewership this week, compared to 1455.17(000) in Week 21. Sony Entertainment Television, too, saw an increase in its weekly AMA at 1334.83(000) in Week 22, from 1297.89(000) recorded last week.

On the other hand, Zee Anmol saw a decline in its weekly AMA to 1244.66(000) from 1292.97(000) recorded last week. Zee TV [1240.76(000)] and Dangal [1213.83(000)], too, declines in their weekly AMAs.

Star Utsav’s ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ continued as the most watched show on Hindi GECs on All Platforms, garnering 13339(000) weekly AMA. Three shows from Star Plus followed in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions – ‘Anupamaa’ [13114(000)], ‘Imli’ [12067(000)] and ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein’ [11966(000)]. Dance reality show ‘Super Dancer Chapter 4’ on Sony Entertainment Television was in the 5th position with 9872(000) weekly AMA. 

Pay Platforms

Star Plus continued to dominate the Pay Platforms, witnessing an increase in its weekly AMA at 2873.92(000) in Week 22, compared to 2792.69(000) recorded last week.

Sony SAB [2462.64(000)] was placed in the second position, followed by Colors [1511.73(000)], Sony Entertainment Television [1332.12(000)] and Zee TV [1238.61(000)] in the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions, respectively.

Placed in the sixth spot was Star Utsav, which garnered weekly AMA of 884.02(000), followed by Star Bharat [719.61(000)] at No. 7, Sony Pal [598.04(000)] at No. 8, Colors Rishtey [485.73(000)] at No. 9, and Dangal [451.41(000)] at No. 10.

‘Anupamaa’ [13039(000)], ‘Imli [12009(000)] and ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein’ [11915(000)] – all from the Star Plus stable – were the Top 3 most watched shows on Hindi GECs on Pay Platforms.

‘Super Dancer Chapter 4’ [9849(000)] on Sony Entertainment Television and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ [9539(000)] on Sony SAB were placed in the 4th and 5th positions respectively.
