BARC Wk 13: India Today TV No.1 English news channel in megacities

English news genre continues to grow as per BARC data for Week 13. India Today TV grew to 658 (000) average impressions in megacities, from 583 (000) impressions in Week 12. (NCCS AB: Males 22+ Individuals) It overtook Republic TV, which garnered 620 (000) impressions and Times Now, which garnered 386 (000) impressions.

However, Republic TV became the No. 1 English channel by delivering 19.9 million reach in Week 13, surpassing English movie channels. (Average Weekly Impressions | NCCS 2+ | India) (Week 13: Saturday, 28th March 2020 to Friday, 3rd April 2020)

BARC data for Week 13 shows that Republic TV leads overall English news viewership with 2,082 (000) impressions, followed by Times Now with 1,284 (000) impressions and India Today TV with 1,182 (000) impressions.

Republic TV grew its viewership share in overall English news genre from 33.34 per cent in Week 12 to 36.85 per cent in Week 13. The No. 2 and No. 3 channels also marginally increased their viewership share compared to other news channels.
