BARC Wk 14: Star Bharat retains top spot; slide for Zee’s Kumkum Bhagya

BARC ratings for Week 14 of 2018 (March 31-April 6) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Star Bharat retain its No. 1 spot. Star Plus saw gains as the channel climbed up two notches to be placed at No. 6. Meanwhile, Zee TV’s popular show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ moved out of the top 5 most watched shows after being among the top two shows for several weeks. 

Star Bharat, which had climbed up two notches to claim the numero uno spot last week, held on to this position in Week 14. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 731,561, a decline from 748,554 recorded in Week 13. It’s show, ‘Kya Haal Mr Paanchal’ made at re-entry to the list of most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban at No. 3 with 9,370 (000) Impressions. 

Placed at No. 2, Zee Anmol saw a further decline in its gross viewership in Week 14 – from 737,113 recorded last week to 710,197 this week. Re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, continued to top the list of most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 11,460 (000) Impressions. 

Sony Pal, too, saw a decline in its gross viewership to 675,060 in Week 14 from 707,481 recorded last week, even as the channel continued in the third spot. Two of its shows have made it to the most watched shows’ list. Long running sitcom, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Charhma’, made a re-entry at No. 5 with 8,563 (000) Impressions, while Crime show, ‘CID’, continued in the fifth spot with 8,398 (000) Impressions. 

Star Utsav continued in the fourth spot in Week 14 as well, recording a gross viewership of 603,378, a decline from 632,677 recorded last week. 

Zee TV climbed up a notch to No. 5 this week with a gross viewership of 534,938, compared to 511,841 recorded in Week 13. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ remained in the second spot among most watched shows, with 10,718 (000) Impressions. Meanwhile, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ didn’t feature among the top 5 most watched shows after being in this list for several months. The show was placed in the fourth spot in Week 13 with 9,243 (000) Impressions. 

Star Plus climbed up a couple of notches to the sixth spot in Week 14, garnering a gross viewership of 501,433, a further increase from 482,948 recorded last week. 

Colors, on the other hand, slipped a couple of notches to No. 7 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 491,626, a further decline from 530,771 recorded in Week 13. 

Rishtey climbed up a notch to the eighth spot in Week 14, recording a gross viewership of 430,206, compared to 463,064 recorded last week. 

Sony Entertainment Television, which had climbed up a couple of notches to the seventh spot last week, failed to hold on to this position and slipped back a couple of notches to be placed in the ninth spot in Week 14. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 379,412, a steep decline from 498,249 recorded in Week 13. 

There was no change in Sony SAB’s position, which continued to be placed in the tenth spot in Week 14 as well, garnering a gross viewership of 376,891, a decline from 395,521 recorded last week.
