BARC Wk 16 ratings: Star Plus remains at No. 1; decline for most GECs

BARC ratings for Week 16 (April 15-21) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Star Plus continue in its top spot. Like the previous week, this week, too, saw very few movements in the rankings even as most Hindi GECs witnessed a decline in their gross viewerships.

Star Plus remained the No. 1 Hindi GEC in Rural+Urban in Week 16 as well. However, the channel witnessed further decline in its gross viewership – from 678,258 recorded last week to 639,788 this week. Its show, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, continued in the third spot in Week 16 as well with 8,566 Impressions (000s). 

Sony Pal, which surprised all by claiming the No. 1 spot in Week 13, continued to be placed in the second spot in Week 16. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 595,069, a decline from 599,008 recorded last week. 

Colors remained in the third spot in Week 16, recording a gross viewership of 570,624, a decline from 590,632 recorded last week. ‘Naagin Season 2’ continued as the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban, garnering 11,397 Impressions (000s). 

Rishtey, which had climbed up a notch to No. 4 in Week 14, continued in this spot in Week 16 as well. However, the channel witnessed a decline in its gross viewership – from 530,127 in Week 15 to 513,153 this week. Re-run of ‘Naagin - Season 2’ on the channel was placed at No. 5 with 7,604 Impressions (000s). 

Zee TV, which had slid a notch to No. 5 in Week 14, remained in this position in Week 16 as well, reporting a gross viewership of 503,735, compared to 511,986 recorded last week. Two of its shows find a place in the most watched shows’ list – ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ remained at No. 2, witnessing 10,318 Impressions (000s), while ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ recorded 8,341 Impressions (000s) and was placed fourth. 

Zee Anmol, which had slid a notch to No. 7 in Week 14, climbed up a couple of notches to sixth spot in Week 16. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 459,352, an increase from 426,141 recorded last week. 

Sony SAB remained in the seventh spot in Week 16, garnering a gross viewership of 442,185, an increase from 434,006 recorded last week. 

Star Utsav, which was the major gainer in Week 14, was placed in the eighth spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 437,567, compared to 446,036 recorded last week. 

Sony Entertainment Television slipped a notch to No. 9 in Week 16, garnering a gross viewership of 378091, a further decline from 390,474 recorded last week. 

Life OK continued in the tenth spot in Week 16 as well, registering a gross viewership of 350232, a slight increase from 347,208 recorded last week.
