BARC Wk 17: FTA channels remain strong; Rishtey continues to impress

BARC ratings for Week 17 of 2018 (April 21-27) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw the FTA channels remain firm. Rishtey continued with its good run and climbed up a notch to claim the second spot this week. The channel had registered a jump of four places from No. 7 to No. 3 in Week 16. 

Zee Anmol further consolidated its numero uno position in Week 17 with a further increase in its gross viewership to 771,888 from 714,895 recorded last week. After being the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban for weeks, re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, slipped to the second spot with 11,218 (000) Impressions. 

Rishtey, which has been steadily climbing up the charts, further moved up a notch to the second spot in Week 17. The channel had jumped four notches to the third spot last week with a steep hike in its gross viewership to 626,201. Rishtey’s gross viewership saw further growth this week as well to 672,774. 

Star Bharat, meanwhile, slipped a notch to No. 3 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 638,431, an increase from 629,922 recorded in Week 16. It’s show, ‘Jiji Maa’, made an entry to the list of top five most watched shows for the first time at No. 5 with 8,121 (000) Impressions. 

Sony Pal remained unchanged at No. 4 this week, recording a gross viewership of 605,469, a slight increase from 600,021 recorded in Week 16. 

Zee TV was back among the top 5 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. The channel climbed up a notch to be placed in the fifth spot in Week 17, garnering a gross viewership of 579,082, an increase from 506,179 recorded last week. Three of Zee TV’s shows featured among the top 5 most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in Week 17. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ became the most watched show with 11,517 (000) Impressions, while ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ moved up a notch to No. 4 with 10,522 (000) Impressions. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ slid a notch to No. 4 with 9,315 (000) Impressions. 

Star Utsav, which had slid a notch to the fifth spot in Week 16, remained in this position this week as well, recording a gross viewership of 513,800, a further decline from 523,373 recorded last week. 

Star Plus climbed up a notch to No. 7 in Week 17. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 456,054, a marginal decline from 457,220 recorded last week. 

Colors, on the other hand, slipped a notch to the eighth spot this week, recording a gross viewership of 430,238, a decline from 494,038 recorded in Week 16. 

Sony Entertainment Television and Sony SAB swapped places this week, with the former slipping a notch to No. 10, while Sony SAB climbed up a notch to the ninth spot recording a gross viewership of 348,831, compared to 344,705 recorded in Week 16. Sony Entertainment Television garnered a gross viewership of 340,856, a decline from 354,487 recorded last week.
