BARC Wk 17 ratings: Star Plus maintains lead; Kumkum Bhagya at No 1

BARC ratings for Week 17 (April 22-28) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Star Plus continue in its top spot. This week, Zee TV climbed up a notch to be placed in the fourth spot. Star Utsav and Life OK, too, saw gains in their rankings this week. 

Star Plus remained the No. 1 Hindi GEC in Rural+Urban in Week 17 as well, recording a gross viewership of 640,266, a marginal increase from 639,788 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ slipped a notch to the fourth spot in Week 17 with 8,760 Impressions (000s). 

Sony Pal, which surprised all by claiming the No. 1 spot in Week 13, continued to be placed in the second spot in Week 17. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 577,002, a further decline from 595,069 recorded last week. Long running sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ made a re-entry in the list of most watched shows in Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in the fifth spot with 7,259 Impressions (000s). 

Colors remained in the third spot this week as well, recording a gross viewership of 554,259, a further decline from 570,624 recorded in Week 16. After spending weeks in the top spot, ‘Naagin Season 2’ slid to No. 2 among the most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban, garnering 10,399 Impressions (000s). 

Zee TV climbed up a notch to No. 4 in Week 17, reporting a gross viewership of 527,739, an increase from 503,735 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, became the most watched show on Hindi GECs this week, garnering 11,153 Impressions (000s). Talent hunt show ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ climbed up a notch to the third spot with 9,027 Impressions (000s). 

Meanwhile, Rishtey slid a notch to No. 5 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 509,513, a slight decline from 513,153 recorded in Week 16. 

Zee Anmol, which had climbed up a couple of notches to the sixth spot in Week 16, continued in this position this week as well. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 435289, a decline from 459,352 recorded last week. 

Star Utsav and Sony SAB swapped places this week, with the former climbing up a notch to No. 7 in Week 17. Star Utsav garnered a gross viewership of 428,772, compared to 437,567 recorded last week. 

Sony SAB, on the other hand, slipped a notch to No. 8 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 410493, a decline from 442,185 recorded in Week 16. 

Life OK climbed up a notch to No. 9 this week, registering an increase in its gross viewership – from 350,232 in Week 16 to 368,892 this week. 

Sony Entertainment Television further slipped a notch to be placed in the tenth spot in Week 17, garnering a gross viewership of 340,780, a decline from 378,091 recorded last week.
