BARC Wk 19: Zee Anmol’s reign continues, channel widens gap with others

BARC ratings for Week 19 of 2018 (May 5-11) [HSM (U+R): NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw the FTA channels continue strong. Zee Anmol maintained a firm grip on the No.1 position. Interestingly, all the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban this week belonged to the Zee stable – 3 from Zee TV and 2 from Zee Anmol. 

Zee Anmol further surged ahead in ratings, while holding on firm to its numero uno position in Week 19. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 857,264, a leap from 769,222 recorded last week. Re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, remained the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 12,333 (000)  Impressions. Daily soap ‘Mahek’ made its debut in the list of most watched shows in the fourth position with 7,910 (000) Impressions. 

Rishtey, too, remained unchanged at No. 2 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 658,382, an increase from 642,114 recorded in Week 18. 

Sony Pal climbed up a notch to move past Star Bharat to be placed in the third spot in Week 19. The channel recorded an increase in its gross viewership to 654,053 from 594,997 recorded last week. 

Star Bharat, on the other hand, slipped a notch to No. 4 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 577,588, a further decline from 603,720 recorded in Week 18. 

Zee TV continued to be placed in the fifth spot in Week 19 as well. However, the channel saw a further decline in its gross viewership – from 548,150 in Week 18 to 519,606 this week. This is despite three of its shows being among the top 5 most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ was placed second with 10,840 (000) Impressions, while ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ followed in the third spot with 9,222 (000) Impressions. ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ further slipped a notch to the fifth spot with 7,909 (000) Impressions. 

Star Utsav remained in the sixth spot in Week 19, recording a gross viewership of 473,228, an increase from 460,921 recorded last week. 

Star Plus, too, continued in the seventh spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 429,027, a slight increase from 422,988 recorded in Week 18. 

Colors remained at No. 8 this week as well. The channel saw an increase in its gross viewership this week at 421,333 from 395,016 recorded in Week 18. 

Sony SAB was placed ninth in Week 19, garnering a gross viewership of 376,296, compared to 356,192 recorded last week. 

Placed in the tenth spot, Sony Entertainment Television garnered a gross viewership of 344,876, an increase from 330,934 recorded in Week 18.
