BARC Wk 2 ratings: Colors and Rishtey among top 3 Hindi GECs

BARC ratings for Week 2 (January 7-13) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw two channels from the Viacom18 stable – Colors and Rishtey – among the top three Hindi GE channels, with Colors claiming the numero uno spot. 

Colors replaced Star Plus as the No. 1 Hindi general entertainment channel in Week 2 of 2017 in Urban+Rural, recording a gross viewership of 667,949, a decline from 629,203 recorded last week. Two shows of Colors were among the five most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Week 52. ‘Naagin Season 2’ remained steadfast at the No. 1 spot, garnering 13,013 Impressions (000s) this week. ‘Shakti - Astitva ek Ehsas Ki’ was at No. 4, garnering 10,034 Impressions (000s).

Star Plus slipped to the second spot in Week 2 after weeks at No. 1. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 665,560, a decline from 698,269 recorded last week. 

Rishtey continues its good show at No. 3. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 453,703 in Week 2, compared to 498,305 recorded last week. Its show ‘Naagin’ was placed at the second spot, registering 11,293 Impressions (000s).  

Zee TV, too, held on to its position, placed at No. 4 position in Week 2, garnering a gross viewership of 424,762, an increase from 422,904 recorded last week. Its show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ grabbed the third spot this week, registering 11,159 Impressions (000s). 

Meanwhile, Sony Entertainment Television stayed firm in the fifth position in Week 2, garnering a gross viewership of 415,562, compared to 418,710 recorded last week. The channel's popular show ,‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, entered the list of five most watched shows on Hindi GECs, claiming the fifth spot with 9,415 Impressions (000s).

On the other hand, Star Utsav witnessed a huge jump to be placed at No. 6 from No. 10 last week. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 391,058, up from 338,470 recorded in Week 1. 

Placed at the seventh spot was Sony SAB with a gross viewership of 361,523, a decline from 365,956 recorded in Week 1.

Sony Pal slipped two positions to be placed at No. 8 in Week 2, garnering a gross viewership of 348,823, a steep decline from 371,671 recorded last week.

Placed at No. 9, Zee Anmol garnered a gross viewership of 341,131 this week, a decline from 347,450 recorded in Week 1 of 2017. 

Life OK, which had claimed the eight spot last week, slipped to No. 10 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 329,739, a decline from 350,764 recorded in Week 1.
