BARC Wk 20: Sun TV tops South GECs again, as status quo remains in rankings

Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s data for Week 20 (Saturday, 15th May 2021 To Friday, 21st May 2021) for the South GECs, shows Tamil GEC Sun TV as the leading channel once again, garnering Average Minute Audiences (AMA) of 2467.46(000) impressions with all the top shows belonging to the channel [(U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals], followed by Telugu GEC Star Maa with AMA 2136.87(000). The South GECs comprise four languages – Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Kannada

In Karnataka [(U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals], Zee Kannada has been the constant leader. The channel garnered 994.05(000) AMA, however, there is a slight change in the second and third positions – while Udaya TV climbed up to the second position with 689.27(000) AMA, Colors Kannada came down to the third position with 673.57(000) AMA. Star Suvarna was in the fourth position with 650.95 (000) AMA, followed by Udaya Movies, which garnered 596.31(000) AMA.

Malayalam

In Kerala [(U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals], Asianet leads with 776.49(000) AMA, followed by Mazhavil Manorma with 287.59 (000) AMA, Asianet Movies with 268.73 (000), Flowers TV with 236.74 (000) AMA and Zee Keralam with 221.48 (000) AMA.

Tamil

In Tamil Nadu/ Puducherry [(U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals], Sun TV led with 2467.46(000) AMA, followed by Star Vijay, KTV, Zee Tamil and Star Vijay Super with 1719.39(000), 1050.57(000), 1042.6(000) and 617.24(000) AMA, respectively.

Telugu

In AP/ Telangana [(U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals], Star Maa led with 2136.87(000) AMA, followed by Zee Telugu at 1609.44(000) AMA, ETV Telugu with 1282.27(000) AMA, Gemini TV with 833.74(000) AMA and Star Maa Movies with 699.5(000) AMA.
