BARC Wk 20: Zee Anmol records highest ever gross viewership

BARC ratings for Week 20 of 2018 (May 12-18) [HSM (U+R): NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Zee Anmol surge ahead of the rest of the top 10 channels, further widening the gap with the No. 2 channel (Rishtey). Shows from the Zee stable (3 from Zee TV and 2 from Zee Anmol) continued to capture all the top 5 slots of Hindi GEC shows in Rural+Urban this week. 

Continuing strong at No. 1, Zee Anmol recorded its highest ever gross viewership as well as the highest gross viewership recorded by any channel ever since BARC ratings came into being. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 912,883 in Week 20, a leap from 857,264 recorded last week. Re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, remained the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 13,366 (000)  Impressions. Daily soap ‘Mahek’, which made its debut in the list of most watched shows in the fourth position last week, remained in this position this week with 8,357 (000) Impressions. 

Rishtey, too, remained unchanged at No. 2 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 679,799, a further increase from 658,382 recorded in Week 19. 

Sony Pal, which had climbed up a notch last week to be placed in the third spot, continued in this position in Week 20, garnering a gross viewership of 571,922, a decline from 654,053 recorded last week. 

Star Bharat, too, continued at No. 4 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 554,893 a further decline from 577,588 recorded in Week 19. 

Continuing at No. 5 in Week 20, Zee TV saw a further decline in its gross viewership – from 519,606 in Week 19 to 515,794 this week. Three of its shows continue to be among the top 5 most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ was placed second with 10,902 (000) Impressions, while ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ followed in the third spot with 9,453 (000) Impressions. ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ was placed fifth with 8,156 (000) Impressions. 

Meanwhile, Star Plus climbed up a notch to the sixth spot in Week 20, garnering a gross viewership of 432,679, a slight increase from 429,027 recorded last week. 

On the other hand, Star Utsav slipped a notch to the seventh spot this week, recording a gross viewership of 432,391, a decline from 473,228 recorded last week. 

Colors remained at No. 8 in Week 20 as well. The channel saw a decline in its gross viewership this week at 398342, compared to 421,333 recorded in Week 19. 

Sony SAB and Sony Entertainment Television continued at No. 9 and No. 10 spots, respectively, in Week 20. Sony SAB saw a decline it its gross viewership to 371,668 from 376,296 recorded last week. Sony Entertainment Television, too, saw a decline in its gross viewership to 327,285 from 344,876 recorded in Week 19.
