BARC Wk 21: Naagin 3 asserts its supremacy by reclaiming the top position

BARC India data for Week 21 (Saturday, May 18 to Friday, May 24) of 2019 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals], shows yet another week of no major upheavals in the top 10 GECs rankings, except for the re-entry of Star Utsav in the tenth spot. This week, Colors’ ‘Naagin 3’ asserted its supremacy by reclaiming the top position among shows after several weeks. 

Continuing at No. 1, Dangal TV, however, saw a decline in its gross viewership in Week 21 to 854,818, from 900,947 recorded last week. 

Big Magic continued to see further decline in its gross viewership this week as well at 717,282, from 728,550 recorded in Week 20. The channel remained unchanged at No. 2. 

Placed in the third spot, Star Plus saw a marginal increase in its gross viewership this week at 656,626, from 655,098 recorded in Week 20. 

Continuing in the fourth spot, Zee TV saw an increase in its gross viewership in Week 21 at 560,782, compared to 531,765 recorded last week. 

Colors remained unchanged in the fifth spot in Week 21 as well. This week, the channel saw an increase in its gross viewership at 533,246, from 503,344 recorded last week. 

This week, Sony SAB climbed up a notch to No. 6, garnering a gross viewership of 488,560, a further increase from 480,887 recorded in Week 20.

On the other hand, Sony Entertainment Television slipped a notch to No. 7 in Week 21, witnessing a decline in its gross viewership at 485,118, from 488,943 recorded last week. 

There was no change in the rankings of Star Bharat and Sony Pal, which continued at No. 8, and No. 9, respectively, in Week 21 as well. All three channels saw an increase in their gross viewership this week. 

Star Bharat saw a marginal decline in it gross viewership for this week as well, which stood at 294,090, compared to 295,192 recorded in Week 20. On the other hand, Sony Pal saw a further increase in its gross viewership at 173,642, from 171,222 recorded last week. 

The tussle for the tenth spot continues between Star Utsav and &TV. In Week 21, Star Utsav was back at No. 10, dislodging &TV from this position. Star Utsav garnered a gross viewership of 145,809. 

Top 5 shows of Week 21 

Colors’ supernatural/ fantasy show ‘Naagin 3’, returned to the top spot after several weeks with 12,368 (000) Impressions. The show was placed in the fourth spot in Week 20. 

Three of Zee TV’s shows continued to be among the most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. This week, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ slipped a notch to the second spot with 12,304 (000) Impressions. ‘Kundali Bhagya’, the spin-off show of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, also slipped a notch to the third spot with 11,523 (000) Impressions. ‘Tujhse Hai Raabta’, which made an entry in the fifth spot last week, continued in this position in Week 21 as well with 8,889 (000) Impressions. 

Star Plus’ ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’ slipped a notch to the fourth spot this week, but witnessed a further increase in its viewership at 11,009 (000) Impressions.
