BARC Wk 21: Zee Anmol continues strong; shows from Zee stable rule

BARC ratings for Week 21 of 2018 (May 19-25) [HSM (U+R): NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Zee Anmol surge ahead of the rest of the top 10 channels, further widening the gap with the No. 2 channel (Rishtey). Shows from the Zee stable (3 from Zee TV and 2 from Zee Anmol) continued to capture all the top 5 slots of Hindi GEC shows in Rural+Urban this week. 

After securing the highest ever ratings by any Hindi GEC in BARC ratings last week, Zee Anmol saw a decline in its gross viewership – from 912,883 in Week 20 to 890,491in Week 21 – even as the channel held on to its numero uno position. Re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, remained the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 12,916 (000) Impressions. Daily soap ‘Mahek’, which made its debut in the list of most watched shows in the fourth position last week, slipped to the 5th position this week with 8,090 (000) Impressions. 

Rishtey, too, remained unchanged at No. 2 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 686,253, a further increase from 679,799 recorded in Week 20. 

Sony Pal continued to be placed in the third spot in Week 21, garnering a gross viewership of 600,487, an increase from 571,922 recorded in Week 20. 

Zee TV climbed up a notch to the fourth spot in Week 21 with a gross viewership of 581,815, an increase from 515,794 recorded last week. Three of its shows continue to be among the top 5 most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ was placed second with 10,642 (000) Impressions, while ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ followed in the third spot with 10,387 (000) Impressions. ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ was placed fourth with 8,353 (000) Impressions. 

Star Bharat, meanwhile, slipped to No. 5 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 563,733, a slight increase from 554,893 recorded in Week 20. 

This week, Star Utsav climbed up a notch to No. 6, garnering a gross viewership of 479,587, compared to 473,228 recorded in Week 20. 

Star Plus slipped a notch to No. 7 in Week 21, garnering a gross viewership of 439,453, a slight increase from 432,679 recorded last week. 

Colors remained unchanged at No. 8 this week as well. The channel saw a decline in its gross viewership this week at 394,807, as compared to 398,342, recorded in Week 20. 

Sony SAB and Sony Entertainment Television continued at No. 9 and No. 10 spots, respectively, in Week 21 as well. 

Sony SAB saw a decline in its gross viewership to 360,612 from 371,668 recorded last week. Sony Entertainment Television, on the other hand, saw an increase in its gross viewership to 340,661 from 327,285 recorded in Week 20.
