BARC Wk 25 GEC ratings: Star Utsav further consolidates No. 1 position on All Platforms

Week 25 (Saturday, 20th June 2020 to Friday, 26th June 2020) on All Platforms saw some upheavals, with some channels not being able to hold on to their gains of last week. Making the shift to FTA in March 2020 is paying off for Star Utsav, Colors Rishtey and Zee Anmol. As per BARC data [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals], Star Utsav further strengthened its position by seeing gains in its gross viewership, even as Dangal further slipped to the third spot.

All Platforms

Star Utsav, which had climbed up to the numero uno spot last week, further consolidated its position in Week 25, witnessing an increase in its gross viewership to 1,013,655(000) from 855,595(000) recorded in Week 24.

Star Plus, too, saw gains this week. After slipping a notch to No. 3 in Week 24, the channel climbed a notch to be back in the second spot in Week 25. Star Plus recorded gross viewership of 871,983(000), an increase from 744,313(000) recorded last week.

After losing its leadership status among Hindi GECs on All Platforms, Dangal further slipped a notch to No. 3 this week, garnering gross viewership of 782,076(000), compared to 818,263(000) recorded in Week 24.

Meanwhile, Colors Rishtey also continued to see gains, climbing up a notch to No. 4. The channel had registered huge gains in Week 24, jumping five notches to No. 5 after making a re-entry at No. 10 in Week 23. Colors Rishtey recorded further growth in its gross viewership at 658,344(000) from 617,276(000) recorded last week.

On the other hand, Sony SAB slipped a notch to the fifth spot in Week 25, seeing a further decline in its gross viewership – from 688,491(000) in Week 24 to 624,422(000) recorded this week. Zee Anmol, which was a new entrant at No. 7 last week, climbed up a notch to the sixth spot in Week 25. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 581,490(000) this week, an increase from 441,716(000) recorded in Week 24.

Meanwhile, Sony Pal slipped a notch to No. 7 this week, witnessing a decline in its gross viewership to 521,158(000) from 565,659(000) recorded in Week 24. Big Magic remained unchanged at the eighth spot this week, recording a gross viewership of 415,343(000), a decline from 437,326(000) recorded in Week 24.

Sony Entertainment Television, which had slid a notch to No. 10 last week, climbed up a notch to be back at No. 9 in Week 25. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 340,015(000), a slight increase from 334,466(000) recorded in Week 24. On the other hand, Colors, which had made a re-entry to the top 10 Hindi GECs’ list last week at No. 9, slipped a notch to the tenth spot in Week 25. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 330,768(000), compared to 379,793(000) recorded in Week 24.

Top Shows

Mythological shows continue to dominate the most watched shows list in Week 25 as well. Daily soap ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ on Star Utsav made an entry to the list of most watched shows at No. 5 this week.
