BARC Wk 25 ratings: Star Plus reclaims numero uno spot

BARC ratings for Week 25 (June 17-23) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw another week of strong performance by the Free-To-Air (FTA) channels. Star Plus reclaimed its numero uno spot this week, even as last week’s No. 1 Hindi GEC Sony Pal slipped to the third spot. 

Star Plus, which had slipped a notch to the second spot in Week 24, was back at No. 1 this week, registering a gross viewership of 593,712, an increase from 584,337 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, was the fifth most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban, garnering 8,624 Impressions (000s). 

Zee Anmol climbed up from the fourth spot to No. 2 in Week 25, witnessing a jump in its gross viewership – from 531,190 in Week 24 to 580,287 this week. 

Sony Pal dropped to the third spot this week from No. 1 in Week 24. The channel reported a gross viewership of 560,468 in Week 25, a decline from 590,797 recorded last week. 

Rishtey remained unchanged in the fourth spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 546,014, a decline from 573,860 recorded in Week 24. 

Colors moved up a couple of notches from No. 7 to the fifth spot in Week 25. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 496,646, a jump from 433,443 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Naagin Season 2’, remained the fourth most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in Week 25 with 9,332 Impressions (000s). 

Zee TV slipped a notch to the sixth spot in Week 25, but registered an increase in its gross viewership – from 469,297 recorded last week to 479,152 recorded this week. Two of its shows featured in the list of top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ climbed to the second spot with 9,764 Impressions (000s) this week, while talent hunt show ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ remained in the third spot with 9,523 Impressions (000s). 

Sony SAB, which had moved up from No. 8 in Week 23 to No. 6 last week, slipped a notch to the seventh spot in Week 25. The channel has garnered a gross viewership of 445,866, an increase from 439,300 recorded last week. 

Telecast of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 on DD National continued to buoy the channel. DD National, which had slipped a couple of notches to the eighth spot in Week 24, remained in this position this week as well. The channel registered a gross viewership of 417,285 in Week 25, a decline from 424,973 recorded last week. The ICC Champions Trophy Final match between India and Pakistan garnered a whopping 22,525 Impressions (000s). 

Sony Entertainment Television and Life OK remained unchanged at No. 9 ad No. 10, respectively in Week 25.
