BARC Wk 34: Zee Anmol’s record ratings; Dangal TV nudges out Sony

BARC ratings for Week 34 (August 18-24) [HSM (U+R): NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw FTA channels gain further grounds once again among the top 10 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. Zee Anmol scored record-breaking gross viewership this week. Dangal TV made a re-entry in the top 10 list, this time at No. 9. On the other hand, in a surprising twist, Sony Entertainment Television moved out of the top 10 list this week for the first time since BARC ratings came into play. 

Zee Anmol further strengthened its numero uno position in Week 34, garnering record-breaking gross viewership of 805,449, further increase from 760,162 recorded last week. After slipping to No. 5 last week, re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, was back at No. 2 this week among most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 12,553 (000) Impressions.  

Star Utsav remained unchanged in the second spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 672,076, a decline from 702,233 recorded on Week 33. 

Seeing further gains, Star Bharat, climbed up a couple of notches to the third spot in Week 34, garnering a gross viewership of 653136, an increase from 613,947 recorded last week. 

Star Plus, on the other hand, slipped a notch to No. 4 this week. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 642,423, a further decline from 659,629 recorded in Week 33. Its prime time show, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, slipped a notch to No. 5 with 10,994 (000) Impressions.  

Colors saw gains this week, climbing up a couple of notches to No. 5 in Week 34, garnering a gross viewership of 601,063, an increase from 578,653 last week. Colors’ prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, continued as the most watched show in Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 15,528 (000) Impressions. 

Zee TV remained unchanged at No. 6 in Week 34 after slipping a couple of notches last week. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 598,974, an increase from 585,372 recorded last week. ‘Kundali Bhagya’, which didn’t feature among the top 5 shows in Week 33, made a re-entry in this list this week at No. 3 with 12,205 (000) Impressions. Marquee show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, slipped a notch to No. 4 with 11,229 (000) Impressions.  

On the other hand, Sony Pal, which had climbed up to the fourth spot in Week 33, slipped three notches to be placed at No. 7 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 587,936, a decline from 616,717 recorded last week. 

Continued to be placed at No. 8, Rishtey saw a marginal increase in its gross viewership in Week 34 to 515,872 from 512,119 recorded last week. 

Dangal TV, which made an entry in the list of top 10 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban at the tenth spot in Week 32, but moved out the next week, is back in the top 10 list in Week 34. The channel is placed at No. 9 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 491,650. Dangal TV had secured a gross viewership of 436,147 in Week 32. 

Sony SAB continued at No. 10 in Week 34, garnering a gross viewership of 471,094, compared to 444,958 recorded last week. 

In a surprising twist, Sony Entertainment Television, which was placed in the eighth spot in Week 33, moved out of the top 10 list this week for the first time since BARC ratings came into play. The channel had garnered a gross viewership of 455,355 in Week 33.
