BARC Wk 35 ratings: Zee Anmol in lead; Star Bharat begins life at No. 5

BARC ratings for Week 35 (August 26 – September 1) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Zee Anmol see a decline in its gross viewership, even as the channel held on to its numero uno position. Star India’s gamble of rebranding Life OK as Star Bharat has paid off as the channel debuts at the fifth spot. 

After recording its highest ever ratings ever since BARC was introduced last week, Zee Anmol saw a decline in its gross viewership in Week 35 to 771,523 from 815,471 recorded in Week 34. The channel maintained its lead amongst Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. Re-run of the serial ‘Jamai Raja’ continued as the third most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 10,018 Impressions (000s). 

Colors, too, remained unchanged at No. 2 this week. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 613,679, a slight dip from 618,223 recorded in Week 34. Reality show, ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi – Pain in Spain’, further climbed up a notch to the second spot with 10,238 Impressions (000s). 

Zee TV continued to be placed in the third spot in Week 35 as well, garnering a gross viewership of 598,705, a further decline from 617,260 recorded last week. Three of its shows continue to be amongst the most watched shows on Hindi GECs. This week, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ remained in the top spot with 10,267 Impressions (000s). ‘Kundali Bhagya’, the spin-off show of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, moved up a notch to be placed in the fourth spot with 9,858 Impressions (000s). Meanwhile, talent hunt show ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ slipped a notch to the fifth spot with 8,952 Impressions (000s). 

Star Plus’ position too was unchanged, with the channel parked in the fourth spot in Week 35, garnering a gross viewership of 574,003, a decline from 598,506 recorded last week. 

Star India’s gamble of rebranding Life OK as Star Bharat has paid off. While Life OK was placed tenth in Week 34, the channel in its Star Bharat avatar gained five places to claim the fifth spot. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 519,743, a jump from 328,571 secured as Life OK. 

Placed at the eighth spot, Sony Entertainment Television, too, saw gains in Week 35 – climbing up from No. 8 to No. 6. The channel reported a gross viewership of 474,425, compared to 383,176 recorded last week. 

Sony Pal further slipped a notch to No. 7 in Week 35, recording a gross viewership of 469,504, a decline from 507,753 recorded last week. 

Rishtey, meanwhile, slid to the eighth spot from No. 5 in Week 34, witnessing a decline in its gross viewership – from 520,553 recorded last week to 418,914 in Week 35. 

Sony SAB slid a couple of notches to No. 9 from the seventh spot last week. The garnered a gross viewership of 368,444, compared to 390,017 recorded in Week 34. 

Star Utsav slid a notch to No. 10 in Week 35, garnering a gross viewership of 290,265, a decline from 331,097 recorded last week.
