BARC Wk 35: Zee Anmol holds on to No. 1 spot; Star bouquet does well

BARC ratings for Week 35 (August 25-31) [HSM (U+R): NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw FTA channels gain further grounds once again among the top 10 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. Zee Anmol remained at the top, but it were the channels from the Star India bouquet that did well. Sony SAB’s show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ once again entered the top 5 shows list this week. Sony Entertainment Television was back among the top 10 Hindi GECs. 

Zee Anmol saw a drop in its gross viewership in Week 35 even as the channel held on to its numero uno position. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 699,774 this week, compared to record-breaking gross viewership of 805,449 in Week 34. After spending months among the top 5 most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban, re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, moved out of the list this week. In Week 34, the show was placed at No. 5 with 12,553 (000) Impressions. 

Star Plus climbed up a couple of notches to No. 2 this week. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 650,282, an increase from 642,423 recorded in Week 34. Its prime time show, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, was up a notch to No. 4 with 11,421 (000) Impressions. 

Star Bharat remained unchanged at No. 3 in Week 35, garnering a gross viewership of 624,084, a decline from 653,136 recorded last week. 

Star Utsav slipped a couple of notches to No. 4 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 617,438, a decline from 672,076 recorded on Week 34. 

On the other hand, Sony Pal climbed up a couple of notches to the fifth spot in Week 35, garnering a gross viewership of 589,461, a marginal increase from 587,936 recorded last week. 

Zee TV remained unchanged at No. 6 in Week 35 as well. However, the channel saw a decline in its gross viewership of – from 598,974 in Week 34 to 587,456 recorded this week. ‘Kundali Bhagya’, which made a re-entry in the list of top 5 shows last week, climbed up to No. 2 this week with 12,245 (000) Impressions. Marquee show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, too, climbed up a notch to No. 3 with 11,603 (000) Impressions.  

Colors, meanwhile, slipped a couple of notches to No. 7 in Week 35, garnering a gross viewership of 572,774, a decline from 601,063 recorded last week. Colors’ prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, continued as the most watched show in Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 13,612 (000) Impressions. 

Continued to be placed at No. 8, Rishtey saw a decline in its gross viewership in Week 35 to 489,549 from 515,872 recorded last week. 

Sony Entertainment Television, which had moved out of the top 10 Hindi GECs list in Week 34, was back in the list this week at No. 9. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 487,858. Sony had secured a gross viewership of 455,355 in Week 33. 

Sony SAB continued at No. 10 in Week 35 as well, garnering a gross viewership of 473,572, an increase from 471,094 recorded last week. Long-running sitcom, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’, made a re-entry in the list of top 5 shows at No. 5 with 10,323 (000) Impressions.
