BARC Wk 36: Zee Anmol reaches new heights; SET #1 in urban segment

BARC ratings for Week 36 (September 1-7) [HSM (U+R): NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Zee Anmol further consolidating its numero uno position, recording its highest ever gross viewership ever since BARC ratings came into being. Zee TV climbed up four notches to No. 6 this week. On the other hand, Sony SAB moved out of the top 10 Hindi GECs list in Rural+Urban. 

Zee Anmol’s gross viewership reached new heights in Week 36 at 838,334, after seeing a drop last week to 699,774. The previous high for the channel was a gross viewership of 805,449 in Week 34. After moving out of the top 5 shows list in Week 35, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was back in the list at No. 2 with 13,785 (000) Impressions. 

Zee TV, too, saw huge gains in Week 36, climbing up from No. 6 in Week 35 to the second spot this week. The channel saw a jump in its gross viewership as well – from 587,456 recorded last week to 689,309 this week. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ slipped a notch to No. 3 among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 12,676 (000) Impressions. Marquee show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, too, slipped a notch to No. 4 with 12,075 (000) Impressions.  

Climbing up a notch to No. 3 in Week 36 was Star Utsav, which garnered a gross viewership of 658,543, an increase from 617,438 recorded last week. 

On the other hand, Star Bharat slipped a notch to the fourth spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 645,596, an increase from 624,084 recorded in Week 35. 

Sony Pal remained unchanged at No. 5 in Week 36, garnering a gross viewership of 622,584, a further increase from 589,461 recorded last week. 

Star Plus, meanwhile, dropped from No. 2 to No. 6 in Week 36. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 614,665, a decline from 650,282 recorded last week. Its prime time show, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, was the fifth most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 11,022 (000) Impressions.  

Sony Entertainment Television saw some gains this week, climbing up a couple of notches to the seventh spot. The channel held No.1 position in the urban segment. SET recorded a gross viewership of 599,495, an increase from 487,858 recorded in Week 35. 

Colors, which saw decline in Week 35, further slipped a notch to No. 8 this week. However, the channel saw a slight increase in its gross viewership to 584,060, compared to 572,774 recorded last week. Colors’ prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, continued as the most watched show in Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 14,294 (000) Impressions. 

Rishtey, too, slipped a notch to No. 9 in Week 36, garnering a gross viewership 532,809, an increase from 489,549 recorded last week. 

Dangal TV has been flitting in and out of the top 10 Hindi GECs list in the last few weeks. While the channel didn’t feature among the top 10 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban last week, in Week 36, Dangal TV made a re-entry at No. 10, garnering a gross viewership of 477,791. The channel was placed at No. 9 in Week 34, garnering a gross viewership of 491,650. 

Meanwhile, Sony SAB which was placed at No. 10 in Week 35, slipped out of the top 10 list this week. The channel had garnered a gross viewership of 473,572 last week.
