BARC Wk 4: Reality trumps supernatural as Khatron Ke Khiladi becomes No.1

BARC ratings for Week 4 (January 19 - 25) of 2019 [HSM (U+R): NCCS all: 2+ Individuals] didn’t see too many upheavals as far as channel rankings were concerned. Reality won over the supernatural this week as for the first time Colors’ show ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi – Jigar Pe Trigger’ became the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban, trumping ‘Naagin 3’, another show from the Colors stable. 

Zee Anmol saw a further dip in its gross viewership in Week 4 as well, but maintained its lead among Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 751,727, a marginal dip from 757,413 recorded last week. This week, ‘Kundali Bhagya’, climbed up to the second spot among most watched shows, from No. 3 last week, with 13,516 (000) Impressions. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ remained in the fourth spot with 12,091 (000) Impressions. 

Zee TV further consolidated its position in the second spot in Week 4, garnering a gross viewership of 670,312, a slight increase from 665,067 recorded last week. 

Star Plus continued its good run this week as well, climbing up a notch to the third spot. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 660,831, a further increase from 608,526 recorded in Week 3. 

Star Bharat, on the other hand, slipped a notch to No. 4 in Week 4, but saw an increase in its gross viewership to 657,509 from 614,551 recorded last week. Mythological show, ‘Radhakrishn’, continued in the fifth spot among most watched shows with 11,359 (000) Impressions. 

Star Utsav continued in the fifth spot in Week 4 as well, recording a gross viewership of 636,782, a further increase from 599,682 recorded last week. 

Colors, too, remained unchanged at No. 6 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 601,403, a slight increase from 593,812 recorded in Week 3. Reality show, ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi – Jigar Pe Trigger’, continued to see good traction this week as well and became the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 13,696 (000) Impressions. On the other hand, supernatural show ‘Naagin 3’ once again moved out of the numero uno spot and was placed at No. 3 this week with 13,469 (000) Impressions. 

After witnessing a steep decline in Week 3, Sony Entertainment Television remained in the seventh spot this week, recording a gross viewership of 588,888, as against 579,683 recorded last week. 

Continuing unchanged at No. 8 in Week 4 as well, Sony Pal garnered a gross viewership of 484,160, a further decline from 510,981 recorded last week. 

There was no change in the positions of Dangal TV and Rishtey as well, which continued at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively in Week 4. While Dangal TV secured a gross viewership of 479,376, a decline from 481,266 recorded last week; Rishtey garnered a gross viewership of 430,435, a further decline from 474,457 recorded last week.
