BARC Wk 42 ratings: FTA channels rule; shows from Zee stable reign

BARC ratings for Week 42 (October 14-20) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw FTA channels put up an impressive performance, even as Sony Pal saw good gains. Four of the top five shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban belonged to the Zee stable. 

Zee Anmol remained steadfast at No. 1 in Week 42 as well, garnering a gross viewership of 766,095, an increase from 757,146 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Kaala Teeka’ made a re-entry in the list of most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban, placed third with 9,200 Impressions (000s). 

Zee TV, too, remained unchanged at No. 2 spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 704,641, a further increase from 656,892 recorded in Week 41. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ continued to be the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 11,639 Impressions (000s), while ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was placed second with 10,533 Impressions (000s). As the show nears its grand finale on October 29, talent hunt show for kids – Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ made a re-entry to the list of most watched shows at No. 4 with 8,738 Impressions (000s). 

Star Bharat (formerly Life OK) remained in the third spot in Week 42 as well, garnering a gross viewership of 598,433, a decline from 634,922 recorded last week. 

Sony Pal saw major gains in Week 42, climbing up two notches from No. 6 to No. 4. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 579,884, an increase from 526,821 recorded last week. 

Colors further slid a notch in Week 42 to the fifth spot. The channel reported a gross viewership of 544,445, a decline from 609,841 recorded last week. 

Sony Entertainment Television, too, slid a notch to No. 6 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 538,416, compared to 565,636 recorded in Week 41. ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ moved to the fifth spot among the most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 8,270 Impressions (000s). 

Star Plus remained unchanged at the seventh spot in Week 42. The channel registered a gross viewership of 463,334, a further decline from 485,656 recorded last week. 

With a gross viewership of 371,898, Sony SAB remained in the eighth spot this week. The channel had registered a gross viewership of 354,597 in Week 41. 

This week, Rishtey and Star Utsav swapped places. Rishtey climbed up a notch to the ninth spot in Week 42, garnering a gross viewership of 343,276, compared to 301,051 recorded last week. 

On the other hand, Star Utsav slid a notch to No. 10 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 323,148, a slight increase from 320,306 recorded in Week 41.
