BARC Wk 43 ratings: Reign of the FTA channels continues in R+U

BARC ratings for Week 43 (October 21-27) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw FTA channels put up an impressive performance once again. Star Bharat climbed up to the second spot this week. 

Zee Anmol continued in the numero uno position in Week 43 as well, garnering a gross viewership of 680,454, a decline from 766,095 recorded last week. 

This week, Star Bharat and Zee TV swapped places, with the former climbing up a notch to the second spot. Star Bharat garnered a gross viewership of 658655, an increase from 598,433 recorded in Week 42. 

Zee TV, on the other hand, slipped a notch to the third spot in Week 43 with a gross viewership of 651461, compared to 704,641 recorded last week. Two of its shows – ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued to top the list of most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. While ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ recorded 12,192 Impressions (000s) and was the most watched show, ‘Kundali Bhagya’ followed with 11,710 Impressions (000s). 

Sony Pal, which saw major gains last week when it climbed two notches from No. 6 to No. 4, continued in the fourth spot in Week 43. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 590,647, a further increase from 579,884 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Baalveer’, made an entry in the list of most watched shows on Hindi GECs in the fifth spot. This is the first time that the show has made it to the top five and received 8,178 Impressions (000s). 

Meanwhile, Colors, which had slid a notch in Week 42 to the fifth spot, remained in this position this week as well. The channel reported a gross viewership of 585,745, an increase from 544,445 recorded last week. 

Sony Entertainment Television, too, remained unchanged at No. 6 in Week 43, garnering a gross viewership of 486,356, a decline from 538,416 recorded last week. ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ climbed up a notch to the fourth spot among the most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 8,394 Impressions (000s). 

Star Plus continued in the seventh spot in Week 43. The channel registered a gross viewership of 478,712, an increase from 463,334 recorded last week. 

With a gross viewership of 428,369, Rishtey climbed up a notch to No. 8 in Week 43. The channel had registered a gross viewership of 343,276 last week. 

Sony SAB slipped a notch to the ninth spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 404,768, an increase from 354,597 recorded last week. 

Star Utsav remained at No. 10 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 340,404, an increase from 323,148 recorded last week. 

The first ODI match between India and New Zealand in the ongoing Paytm 2017 series secured 8,438 Impressions (000s) on DD National.
