BARC Wk 45: 7 out of top 10 Hindi GECs see grow viewership drop in R+U

BARC ratings for Week 45 (November 3 - 9) of 2018 [HSM (U+R): NCCS ll: 2+ Individuals] saw most Hindi GECs registering decline in their grow viewership, with only Zee Anmol, Sony Pal and Sony SAB seeing growth. 

Continuing at No. 1, Zee Anmol saw a slight increase in its gross viewership in Week 45 to 812,653 from 809,834 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, continued to rule the roost among most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 13,100 (000) Impressions. ‘Mahek’ fared better, climbing up a couple of notches to No. 3 with 11,992 (000) Impressions. 

Star Utsav registered gains in Week 45, climbing up two notches to No. 2. However, the channel witnessed further decline on its gross viewership to 666,647 from 684,362 recorded last week. 

There was no change in Star Bharat’s position as it stayed at No. 3 this week as well. The channel, too, saw a decline in its gross viewership to 660,593, from 758,664 recorded in Week 44. 

Zee TV’s yo-yo show continued in Week 45 as well. After recording gains last week, the channel saw a sharp decline this week as it slipped a couple of notches to the fourth spot. Zee TV’s gross viewership in Week 45 fell sharply to 644,737 from 790,406 recorded last week. Long time fixtures among most watched shows - ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ – remained in the top 5 list. However, ‘Kundali Bhagya’ slipped a couple of notches to No. 4 with 11,332 (000) Impressions, while marquee show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ slipped to No. 5 with 9,738 (000) impressions.  

Star Plus remained at No. 5 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 643,485, a further decline from 658,147 recorded in Week 44. 

Colors, too, remained unchanged in the sixth spot in Week 45, garnering a gross viewership of 593,894, a decline from 606,875 recorded last week. The channel’s prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, climbed up a notch to No. 2 this week with 12,796 (000) Impressions.  

This week, Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Pal switched places. Sony Pal climbed up a notch to No. 7 in Week 45, garnering a gross viewership of 591,767, an increase from 549,560 recorded last week. 

On the other hand, Sony Entertainment Television slipped a notch to No. 8 this week, registering a gross viewership of 550,846, a marginal decline from 557,578 recorded in Week 44.  

Sony SAB climbed up a notch to the ninth spot in Week 45, garnering a gross viewership of 418,069, a slight increase from 411,613 recorded last week. 

Slipping a notch to No. 10, Dangal TV also saw a decline in its gross viewership in Week 45 to 412,661, from 438,843 recorded last week.
