BARC Wk 47: A week of gains for most Hindi GECs; Radhakrishn finds traction

BARC ratings for Week 47 (November 17 - 23) of 2018 [HSM (U+R): NCCS ll: 2+ Individuals] saw most of the top 10 Hindi GECs record an increase in their gross viewership numbers. The biggest gainer this week was Star Plus which climbed up three notches to be placed at No. 3. Recently launched mythological show, ‘Radhakrishn’, gained traction in Rural+Urban markets, even as ‘Naagin 3’ lost out on its numero uno position yet again this week. 

Zee Anmol further consolidated its numero uno position this week, witnessing an increase in its gross viewership to 839,585, from 772,355 recorded in Week 46. After slipping a notch last week, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was back at No. 1 in Week 47 among most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 14,227 (000) Impressions. 

Star Bharat continued in the second position in Week 47, garnering a gross viewership of 759,104, a further increase from 714,851 recorded last week. A new entrant last week at No. 5, recently launched mythological show, ‘Radhakrishn’, climbed up a notch this week with 11,187 (000) Impressions. 

Star Plus was the biggest gainer this week, climbing up three notches to No. 3, garnering a gross viewership of 707,398, a further increase from 655,510 recorded in Week 47. 

On the other hand, Star Utsav slipped a notch to the fourth spot in Week 47, but still managed to garner an increase in its gross viewership to 706,312, compared to 663,803 recorded last week. 

Zee TV remained unchanged at the fifth spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 686,850, a further increase from 656,010 recorded in Week 46. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ continued to be the third most watched show with 11,608 (000) Impressions, while marquee show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ slipped a notch to No. 5 with 11,143 (000) impressions.  

After reporting huge gains last week, Sony Pal slid a couple of notches to No. 6 in Week 47. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 600,897, a decline from 659,732 recorded last week. 

Colors continued in the seventh spot in Week 47 as well, garnering a gross viewership of 600,118, a decline from 613,069 recorded last week. Colors’ prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, which had climbed up to No. 1 last week, slipped a notch in Week 47 with 13,621 (000) Impressions.  

Placed at No. 8, Sony Entertainment Television garnered a gross viewership of 594,133, a marginal decline from 598,255 recorded in Week 46. 

Dangal TV climbed up a notch to No. 9 in Week 47, reporting a gross viewership of 445,579, an increase from 431,286 recorded last week.  

Sony SAB, on the other hand, slipped a notch to the tenth spot in Week 47, garnering a gross viewership of 431,762, a decline from 469,953 recorded last week.
