BARC Wk 48 ratings: Star Plus overtakes Colors to be No. 1 in U+R

BARC ratings for Week 48 (November 26-December 2) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw a lot of change in the rankings of the top ten Hind GECs. After weeks at the top, Colors slid to the second spot, while Star Plus took on the No. 1 spot. Rishtey saw good gains this week, climbing up from No. 10 to No. 6. 

Star Plus overtook Colors to be the No. 1 Hindi GEC in Urban+Rural in Week 48. The channel recorded a jump in its gross viewership to 720,839 this week from 636,429 recorded in Week 47. Its show ‘Saath Nibhaana Sathiya’, which was placed at No. 5 last week, climbed up to the second spot garnering 11,892 Impressions (000s). Meanwhile, ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ slipped a notch to be placed at the fifth spot this week with 10,692 Impressions (000s). 

After remaining in the numero uno spot for weeks, Colors slipped a notch to be placed at the second spot in Week 48. The channel saw a decline in its gross viewership from 655,190 recorded in Week 47 to 640,513 recorded this week. Colors’ show ‘Naagin 2’ remained strong among the most watched shows on Hindi GECs, garnering 15,858 Impressions (000s) this week. 

Zee TV remained at No. 3 in Week 48 as well, garnering a gross viewership of 478,416, compared to 465,944 recorded last week. Its show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ slipped to No. 4 this week, registering 10,786 Impressions (000s). 

Sony Entertainment Television saw further gains this week, climbing up a notch to No. 4. The channel recorded growth in its gross viewership from 412,004 recorded in Week 47 to 439,992 recorded this week. 

Meanwhile, Sony Pal slipped a notch to be placed in the fifth spot in Week 48 with a gross viewership of 427,172, a decline from 462,496 recorded last week. 

Rishtey jumped from the tenth spot to No. 6 in Week 48. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 390,658 this week, an increase from 346,771 recorded in Week 47. ‘Naagin’ on Rishtey was the third most watched show on Hindi GECs, garnering 10,805 Impressions (000s) this week. 

Zee Anmol slipped a notch to No. 7 this week, witnessing a decline in its gross viewership to 385943 from 407,025 recorded in Week 47. 

Life OK remained unchanged at No. 8 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 384,270, an increase from 366,264 recorded in Week 47. 

Placed at the ninth spot, Sony SAB, too, saw an increase in its gross viewership to 370,715 in Week 48 from 360,533 recorded last week. 

On the other hand, Star Utsav dropped to the tenth spot this week from No. 7 in Week 47, registering a decline in its gross viewership from 402,699 recorded last week to 347,026 in Week 48.
