BARC Wk 49 ratings: Mr Panchaal spurs Star Bharat to the top in R+U

BARC ratings for Week 49 (December 2-8) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Star Bharat climbing up to the No. 1 spot yet again, buoyed by its show, ‘Kya Haal Mr Panchaal’. Colors, too, gained grounds this week, climbing up to the second spot. It will be interesting to see if the channel reaches its former numero uno spot before the year ends. 

Star Bharat has reached the No. 1 spot again. The channel climbed up a notch in Week 49 to the numero uno position. Star Bharat had earlier reached the No. 1 spot in Week 45. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 725,644, a jump from 657,889 recorded last week. Sitcom ‘Kya Haal Mr Panchaal’ became the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in Week 49 with 12,126 Impressions (000s). 

Colors, which had climbed up a notch to be placed in the third spot in Week 48, further climbed up a notch to No. 2 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 643,097, a decline from 649,192 recorded last week. 

Zee TV, which had reclaimed its top spot in Week 48, slipped to the third spot this week. The channel witnessed a decline in its gross viewership – from 675,065 in Week 48 to 636,443 recorded this week. Two of its shows continued to be among the top 5 most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ remained in the second spot with 11,780 Impressions (000s), while ‘Kundali Bhagya’ relinquished its numero uno position and slid to No. 3 this week with 11,683 Impressions (000s). 

Meanwhile, Zee Anmol, which had dropped to the fourth spot in Week 48 from No. 1 the week before, remained in this position in Week 49. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 611444, a marginal decline from 612,946 recorded last week. The channel was consistently leading the Hindi GEC space in Rural+Urban for several weeks until Week 44. 

Sony Pal, too, remained unchanged in the fifth spot in Week 49, garnering a gross viewership of 606,991, a further increase from 595,324 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Baalveer’, remained the fourth most watched show this week with 9,631 Impressions (000s). 

Star Utsav continued to be placed in the sixth spot in Week 49, garnering a gross viewership of 546,771, a jump from 489,578 recorded last week. 

There was no change in the position of Star Plus as well in Week 49, which continued at No. 7, garnering a gross viewership of 493,837, an increase from 464,278 recorded last week. 

Rishtey, too, remained unchanged at No. 8 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 425,303, a further increase from 421,112 recorded in Week 48. 

Meanwhile, Sony Entertainment Television climbed up a notch to the ninth spot in Week 49, garnering a gross viewership of 395,579, an increase from 383,014 recorded last week. Dance reality show, ‘Super Dancer Chapter 2’, is the new entrant in the top 5 most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 9,539 Impressions (000s). 

Sony SAB, on the other hand, slipped a notch to the tenth spot in Week 49, recording a gross viewership of 393,338, a decline from 420,114 recorded last week.
