BARC Wk 5 ratings: Colors returns as No. 1; cricket dominates in U+R

BARC ratings for Week 5 (January 28-February 3) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw Colors slip past Star Plus to be placed at No. 1. The India-England cricket series continued to top the most watched shows on Hindi GECs this week as well. 

Colors regained its numero uno spot in Week 5, garnering gross viewership of 643,963, a slight increase from 640,585 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Naagin Season 2’ slipped further in the viewings charts to No. 3, witnessing 11,396 Impressions (000s), losing out to cricket once again. 

Star Plus slipped a notch to be placed in the second spot, garnering a gross viewership of 614,349, a decline from 660,084 recorded in Week 4. ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ on Star Plus returned to the top 5 most viewed shows in Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in Week 5, recording 8,497 Impressions (000s). 

Zee TV climbed up a notch to No. 3 in Week 5, recording a gross viewership of 436,860, compared to 434,591 last week. Placed at No. 4 among most watched shows on Hindi GECs, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ registered 10,040 Impressions (000s). 

Star Utsav performed well in Week 5, climbing up two places to No. 4 from No. 6 last week. The channel garnered gross viewership of 406,468 this week, up from 389,073 recorded last week. 

On the other hand, Rishtey fell to No. 5 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 404,313, compared to 435,105 recorded in Week 4. 

Sony Entertainment Television slipped a notch to the sixth spot. The channel saw a decline in its gross viewership – from 426,238 in Week 4 to 378,383 this week. 

Zee Anmol climbed up two spots to be placed at No. 7 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 373,498, up from 357 567 recorded in Week 4. 

Life OK remained unchanged at No. 8 in Week 5, recording a gross viewership of 367,714, compared to 378,428 recorded last week. 

Meanwhile, Sony SAB, which had moved out of the top 10 Hindi GECs list in Week 4, was back in the list this week and was placed at No 9. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 338,203 in Week 5. 

DD National, which made it to the list of top 10 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban at No. 7 in Week 4, fell to the tenth spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 336,816, a decline from 385,299 recorded last week. The second and third T20 matches between India and England were the two most viewed shows on Hindi GECs in Rural & Urban in Week 5, garnering Impressions (000s) of 17,215 and 17,563, respectively.
