BARC Wk 5 ratings: FTA channels make further inroads in R+U

BARC ratings for Week 5 of 2018 (January 27-February 2) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw another week of strong show by the FTA channels on the viewership front. Zee Anmol, Star Bharat, and Sony Pal led the list, while Colors clawed back to the fourth spot. 

Zee Anmol continued to lead the Hindi GECs’ list in Rural+Urban in Week 5 as well, garnering a gross viewership of 761,293, an increase from 720,614 recorded last week. Re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was placed in the third spot with 10,235 (000) Impressions. 

Star Bharat, too remained unchanged at No. 2 this week. However, the channel witnessed a further dip in its gross viewership – from 690,782 recorded in Week 4 to 675,896 this week. Its show, ‘Nimki Mukhiya’, continued to be placed in the fourth spot with 9,886 (000) Impressions. Meanwhile, another of its shows – ‘Kya Haal Mr Panchaal’ – made a re-entry in the list of most watched shows in the fifth spot with 9,246 (000) Impressions. 

Sony Pal, which had climbed up a notch to the third spot last week, held on to this position in Week 5, recording a gross viewership of 614,401, an increase from 596,799 recorded in Week 4. 

Colors, on the other hand, climbed up a notch to be placed at No. 4 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 590,900, an increase from 560,540 recorded in Week 4. 

After climbing up a couple of notches in Week 4, Star Utsav slipped a notch to No. 5 this week. The channel saw further gains in its gross viewership this week at 569,949 from 563,861 garnered last week. 

Zee TV remained unchanged at No. 6 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 563,925, an increase from 557,950 recorded in Week 4. Both ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued strong. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ continued to be the most watched show with 12,970 (000) Impressions, while ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ followed in the second spot with 11,727 (000) Impressions. 

Rishtey climbed up a notch to the seventh spot in Week 5, recording a gross viewership of 450,424, a further decline from 453,939 recorded last week. 

On the other hand, Star Plus slipped a notch to be placed in the eighth spot this week. The channel reported a gross viewership of 442,345, a further decline from 444,095 recorded in Week 4. 

Sony Entertainment Television and Sony SAB continued in their respective positions of the previous week at No. 9 and No. 10. 

Sony Entertainment Television’s gross viewership declined from 434,762 recorded in Week 4 to 427,665 recorded this week. 

Placed in the tenth spot, Sony SAB garnered a gross viewership of 413,632, a further increase from 380,515 recorded in Week 4.
