BARC Wk 50: Majority of Hindi GECs see decline in viewership R+U

BARC ratings for Week 50 (December 8 - 14) of 2018 [HSM (U+R): NCCS ll: 2+ Individuals] saw most channels witness decline in their gross viewership as the year draws to a close. Zee Anmol continued in the top spot. Zee TV’s see-saw performance at the ratings chart also continued. 

Though placed at No. 1, Zee Anmol continued to see a decline in its gross viewership in Week 50 as well. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 778209, a fall from 847,007 recorded last week. However, its top show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, saw some growth as it continued as the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 14,053 (000) Impressions. 

Star Plus, too, remained unchanged at No. 2 in Week 50, garnering a gross viewership of 745182, a marginal increase from 745,149 recorded last week. 

Zee TV continued to witness a see-saw performance. This week, the channel climbed up a notch to the third spot, however, it witnessed a decline in its gross viewership to 695,276, from 738,489 recorded in Week 49. Its show, ‘Kundali Bhagya’, slid to the third spot among most watched shows with 12,275 (000) Impressions, while marquee show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was up a notch to No. 4 with 10,580 (000) Impressions. 

Star Bharat slipped a notch to the fourth spot in Week 50, garnering a gross viewership of 667,805, a further decline from 740,960 recorded last week. Mythological show, ‘Radhakrishn’, slipped to the fifth spot among most watched shows with 10,464 (000) Impressions. 

Star Utsav remained unchanged at No. 5 in Week 50, recording a gross viewership of 619,540, a decline from 630,978 recorded last week. 

Colors, too, remained unchanged in the sixth spot this week, recording a gross viewership of 552,334, a marginal increase from 552,186 recorded in Week 49. Colors’ prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, climbed up to No. 2 among most watched shows, registering 13,190 (000) Impressions.  

The last four positions also saw no changes from last week. 

Sony Pal continued at No. 7 in Week 50, garnering a gross viewership of 500,363, a further decline from 538,862 recorded last week. 

Placed at No. 8, Sony Entertainment Television, too, saw a decline in it gross viewership – from 523,452 in Week 49 to 476,220 recorded this week. 

Dangal TV continued in the ninth spot in Week 50, reporting a gross viewership of 413,567, a decline from 457,151 recorded last week.  

Placed at the tenth spot, Sony SAB saw further increase in its gross viewership this week to 411,676, from 399,752 recorded in Week 49.
