BARC Wk 8 ratings: Star Bharat further consolidates its No.1 spot

BARC ratings for Week 8 of 2018 (February 17-23) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] didn’t hold any surprises as far as Hindi GECs were concerned. Star Bharat continued to show growth, even as FTA channels remained strong. Zee TV gained grounds this week, climbing up a notch to the fourth spot. 

Star Bharat, which moved past Zee Anmol to claim the numero uno spot last week, remained in this position in Week 8, further consolidating its position with an increase in its gross viewership – from 748,539 in Week 7 to 754.202 this week. Its show, ‘Nimki Mukhiya’ was the fourth most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 9,971 (000) Impressions. 

Zee Anmol continued in the second spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 713,606, a marginal decline from 715,014 recorded in Week 7. Re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, rose to the numero uno spot this week with 12,814 (000) Impressions. 

Placed at No. 3, Sony Pal saw a slight decline in its gross viewership this week to 679,385 from 680,587 recorded in Week 7. 

Zee TV climbed up a notch in Week 7 to the fourth spot, garnering a gross viewership of 565,898, an increase from 548,284 recorded last week. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ slipped to the second spot among most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 12,441 (000) Impressions. Meanwhile, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ remained in the third spot with 10,903 (000) Impressions. 

Colors slipped a notch to No. 5 in Week 8, garnering a gross viewership of 552,352, a further decline from 566,399 recorded last week. 

Star Utsav was unchanged at No. 6 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 536,145, a further decline from 545,554 recorded in Week 7. 

Placed in the seventh spot, Star Plus witnessed a further increase in its gross viewership – from 476,819 in Week 7 to 520,154 this week. Its show, ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’, made an entry in the list of most watched shows in the fifth spot with 9,720 (000) Impressions. 

On the other hand, Rishtey climbed up a notch to No. 8 this week, recording a gross viewership of 482,384, an increase from 429,550 recorded in Week 7. 

Sony Entertainment Television slipped a notch to the ninth spot in Week 8, garnering a gross viewership of 445,319, a slight increase from 441,687 recorded last week. 

Sony SAB continued to be placed in the tenth spot this week as well, reporting a gross viewership of 394,778, compared to 387,944 recorded in Week 7.
