BBC Entertainment to broadcast live coverage of British Royal Wedding

As the world turns to this historic occasion, BBC Entertainment brings you a 16-day television event in celebration of the British Royal nuptials leading up to the live and uninterrupted coverage of the wedding.

Starting 16th April, every night at 9 PM, BBC Entertainment will broadcast a series of premiering documentaries on the British monarchy in the lead up to the Royal Wedding. The countdown to the wedding will include a retrospective of royal weddings through the decade, the story of Prince William and Catherine Middleton's relationship from their initial meeting at St Andrews University to the present day; and an exclusive look into the preparations for the upcoming nuptials.

The 16-day event culminates on 29th April with the live coverage of Prince William & Catherine Middleton's wedding, to be broadcast live 12:30 PM onwards (IST) on BBC Entertainment.

The live broadcast will be hosted by acclaimed BBC One, News Anchor, Huw Edwards, who will lead the team of BBC presenters throughout the day. Commenting on the news of his appointment, Edwards said, "I am delighted with the news and consider it a great honour to play a part in what I am sure will be a national celebration."

The celebration on BBC Entertainment starts with Monarchy: The Royal family at Work from the 16th to 21st April providing an exceptional insight into the work of The Queen and other members of the Royal Family; Royally Mad airing on 22nd April and 23rd April showcases five of America's most royal fanatics with popular TV host Cat Deeley and their journey to London. Britain's Royal Weddings on 24th and 25th April will include a retrospective of royal weddings through the decade with a look into the emotion, excitement and style of the nation's previous royal weddings. Untold Stories of a Royal Bridesmaid stars renowned designer India Hicks, a bridesmaid at Prince Charles and Lady Diana's wedding, as she take viewers on a personal journey of her last time as a teenage bridesmaid and an exclusive preview of what is set to be the wedding of the 21st century; William and Kate: A Royal Engagement shares the story of Prince William and Kate Middleton's relationship from their initial meeting at St. Andrews University to the present day and Inside The Royal Wedding follows some of the people directly involved in staging the royal Wedding revealing the preparations as they gather pace.
