BBC TopGear celebrates 5 years in India, introduces a 3D issue!

BBC TopGear is all set to celebrate its fifth successful year in India this October with its special "EPIC' issue. And it does this, not in two, but three dimensions! For the first time, TopGear readers and subscribers can enjoy the magazine's Epic journeys in all three dimensions, using 3D glasses supplied with the magazine.

Tagged as "the EPIC 3D issue', TopGear's fifth anniversary issue features drives that go all the way to rocky, remote Kargil, Darjeeling's Makaibari tea estates, Ahmedabad-Vadodara expressway- the fastest highway in India, and the outskirts of Aurangabad.

Read about the Bolero that made the trip to Kargil to celebrate the vehicle's 10 years in the market. India's cheapest car, the Tata Nano, visits Makaibari tea estate, which produces the world's most expensive tea. The new Alto K10 does triple-digit speeds good enough to keep up with entry-level luxury sedans on the Ahmedabad - Vadodara expressway. And Skoda's bold new addition to its Indian stable, the Yeti, explores the lush green landscape of Aurangabad. If that isn't epic enough, read the auto journalist's first-hand account of flying a Learjet at 40,000 ft.

"BBC TopGear is for Auto Enthusiasts. It is for people who "enjoy' cars and bikes. I am happy that the fifth anniversary issue will take their enjoyment to another level, or should I say another dimension. For us, bringing out India's first magazine in 3D is a great way to celebrate TopGear's five years here," says Tarun Rai, Worldwide Media CEO.

"These five years have gone past really fast, which is not a bad thing for a magazine like ours that has speed as one of its obsessions. With BBC TopGear, we've tried to break the stereotype that auto magazines have been traditionally. Not surprisingly, we wanted to go that bit further with this fifth anniversary issue. It's been hard work putting an issue this size and such content together but when it brings a smile on your face we know that all the extra effort has been worth it," adds Girish Karkera, Editor, BBC TopGear India.

Buckle up, put on your 3D glasses and you're on for the journey of a lifetime with TopGear's fifth anniversary issue.

For the news fiends, there are details of Mahindra's new bike to be launched in India, the new face-lifted Skoda Fabia (in showrooms this Diwali) and the Mini's new concept scooter from the Paris Motor Show.

And just to spice things up some more, readers this time are getting two posters ' the Lamborghini Murcielago SV and the Ferrari 458 Italia, plus a free DVD of the James Bond hit, Casino Royale. And, of course, the chance to win DVDs of Robin Hood, Karate Kid and Iron Man 2.
