BBC WW Prod. takes Jhalak to Regional TV

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, the show that has gripped millions of Hindi General Entertainment viewers is now all set to enter and revolutionize entertainment in East India.  ETV Bangla is all set to produce the biggest and the most acclaimed dance reality show that has changed the landscape of dance based reality shows in the country. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, also known as ‘Dancing with the Stars’, as a concept has been loved by the country since five glorious years, and through ETV Bangla it is entering the regional space for the first time. Judging the stellar line up of 12 celebrity contestants will be Remo D’souza, the man who made dancing a cool career to have and Koel Mullick who is the perfect blend of grace and talent. Produced by BBC Worldwide Productions India, the show will be coming soon on ETV Bangla as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Bangla in March.

We are also delighted to have the king of dance, Remo D’souza and leading actress Koel Mullick onboard as the judges.”

ETV Bangla brings together a line-up of 12 celebrity contestants from different walks of life who will redefine breaking traditions while nurturing a passion for dance and taking reality television to an all new level. The Bengali heartthrob – Jishu Sengupta will be anchoring the show while the 12 contestants will take on everything from Salsa to Bhangra and from Cha-cha-cha to Chhau in a journey that will start with two left feet and lead them to a path of beauty and grace.

Elaborating about the format of the show, Myleeta Aga, General Manager and Creative Head of BBC Worldwide Productions India, said, “Since the adaptation of BBC’s international hit format Dancing with the Stars appeared on Indian screens, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has grown to become one of the most popular reality dance shows on television in the country. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Bangla promises to take the format to an all new level of entertainment from its previous renditions and this season will be extensively remodeled from the international version to appeal to the Bengali viewers”.

A unique dance reality show that is a combination of celebrities, excitement and the passion for dancing, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Bangla is all set to outdo itself in everything from scale to scope to the sheer spectacle that it is and will be aired on ETV Bangla in March.
