BeatO brings Color and Care to the Elderly at Old Age Home

This Holi, BeatO - a comprehensive digital care platform for diabetes management and reversal, along with their employees, stepped up to bring Colors, Care, and Cheer to the lives of the elderly at ‘Aangan Old Age Home’ in Noida. BeatO organized a 'Beat the Diabetes' camp on holi to spread smiles among the elderly, continuing its mission of making quality and affordable healthcare accessible to all.

BeatO extended their #SabKiHoli initiative by enrolling the elderly with diabetes at the Aangan Old Age Home in BeatO’s Diabetes Care Program. Through the program, the elderly will have access to doctor consultation, free medicine for 3 months, and dietician’s guidance among many other benefits at their fingertips. BeatO also donated Curv Glucometers, strips, and lancets for the facility residents to ensure through regular monitoring they can lead a healthier and holistic lifestyle.

Commenting on the initiative, Gautam Chopra, CEO & Founder of BeatO said, "BeatO's DNA is infused with the spirit of service and care. Our products are designed to upgrade the nation's healthcare system and focus on supporting and educating remote regions on diabetes care. BeatO’s collaboration with Aangan Old Age Home will provide necessary services to the elderly in need, who are suffering from chronic diseases. We are actively working to address the issues of accessibility, affordability, and availability of healthcare services to ensure quality assistance for people with diabetes.

As per the Countrywide National NCD Monitoring Survey, the highest proportion of adults, newly-diagnosed or previously-diagnosed diabetes was aged 50–69 years. This is a critical indicator on the severe condition of the elderly, especially women which triggered us to expand our efforts. Hence, this Holi, we tried to ensure that diabetes care is extended along with a concoction of quality time and genuine effort” he added.

The camp began with a flurry of colors, followed by a fun round of Antakshari, and a live unplugged musical performance. Dr. Navneet Agrawal, Chief Clinical Officer at BeatO addressed the residents and made them understand the need to control diabetes and advise them how to deal with other old-age related  health complications.  His team provided each resident a personalised doctor consultation on site and guidance on future action.

The elderly at the ‘Aangan Old Age Home’ then participated in a pre-meal blood sugar level monitoring session organized by BeatO experts followed by a scrumptious and healthy lunch as recommended by their diabetologist. BeatO doctors and health coaches further conducted a post-meal blood sugar monitoring session to understand the specific needs of each resident and cater to them accordingly.

BeatO has previously collaborated with Yog Dhyan Foundation with the aim to educate and provide medical counsel to children with Type 1 Diabetes on how they can live a healthy and enriching life while battling the chronic ailment. BeatO is actively working to solve the issues of accessibility, affordability, and availability in order to ensure support for people with diabetes.
